Financial Analyst (Transformation Office)

Vonage is looking for an ambitious and motivated financial analyst to support the Finance Organization to help drive our company-wide Transformation and ensure the Transformation cash impact is assessed accurately and consistently.

We need someone who excels at “getting things done” in a dynamic work environment and is comfortable with ambiguity and excited about the opportunity to contribute to Vonage’s long-term success. The Transformation Office Financial Analyst will work with cross-functional teams on a variety of data analysis & predictive modeling, gaining valuable professional experience across multiple segments of the business.

Your key responsibilities:

  • Forge cross-functional partnerships and gain stakeholder buy-in to get the work done
  • Prepare initiative business cases for review and approval 
  • Facilitate decision-making and collaborate with the appropriate parties to mitigate risks and issues and make recommendations for final approval of the initiatives at each stage gate
  • Track, validate and provide stakeholder reporting on the financial impact of the Transformation
  • Work with Initiative Owners and Finance teams across the business to ensure a consistent approach to valuation of initiative impact (including validating all initiative business cases)
  • Perform financial tracking of progress against commitments (both value delivery and timing)
  • Assist the Transformation Office in resolving resource allocation, project management, financial and risk issues
  • Support CFO in integration of Transformation commitments with quarterly forecasts and annual budgets
  • Highlight developing financial trends which could hinder or accelerate the financial impact of the Transformation
  • Performs trend analyses to forecast future monthly impacts and compare against monthly financial goals
  • Anticipate and recommend solutions for financial issues that arise
  • Works side-by-side on a daily basis with key Transformation stakeholders across the business drive the Transformation
  • Ad hoc sessions and training with Workstream Leads and Initiative Owners regarding initiative valuation approach as necessary
  • Drives financial impact ownership and accountability of initiatives to operational owners
  • Validates financial impacts by utilizing trackable and reportable data
  • Automate impact validation process to make inputability, trackability, and measurability easier for the Finance Lead and Owner  
  • Ability to work independently and solution ambiguous problems

What you'll bring:

  • Strong analytical capabilities, problem solving, organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to critically review and improve initiative metrics
  • Technical financial modelling expertise
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles ie. accruals, amortization, pre-paid expense
  • Strong collaboration, organization and communication skills
  • Experience with data analytics, predictive modeling and data visualization
  • Experience with project management methodology and control techniques.
  • Operational and technical experience and understanding
  • Ability to interact and communicate with all levels of the organization in both business and technical areas
  • Excellent executive-level communication skills - have the ability to create presentations and articulate positions with Senior leaders and stakeholders
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to multitask, work under pressure and meet tight deadlines

What is required of you:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in appropriate field of study: (Finance, Accounting, Economics) or (Management/Business Administration/Communications)
  • Experience with business analysis, and financial modeling, understanding of financial statements and project management
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, v-lookups, etc)
  • Working knowledge of GAAP accounting and financial principles
  • Project management/strategic planning experience - ability to manage several projects/people simultaneously
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently without close supervision
  • Possess enhanced organizational, leadership, management and multi-tasking skills
  • Proven ability to multitask, work under pressure, and meet tight deadlines
  • Great learning skills and curiosity 
  • Enjoy investigating issues, finding simplicity, and identifying innovative solutions.
  • Experience using Google Docs, Sheets, Slides, data visualization shows and Smartsheet is a plus
