Vonage seeks to hire a Corporate Communications Manager with deep media relations experience and a passion for storytelling. The Corporate Communications Manager works closely with the Head of Corporate Communications to manage and execute on Vonage’s media relations strategy, telling the Vonage story by promoting thought leadership, elevating brand perception and managing overall reputation of the company. This role also works to support high impact customer-facing communications to address both reactive and proactive issues management activities. The ideal candidate will have strong relationships with key media, reputation management experience, and a strong desire to be part of a global Communications team.  

Your key responsibilities:  

Apply experience and expertise to consult and advise on corporate communications plans, activities and strategies, including:

Corporate Communications

  • Serve as both a strategist and a writer for external communications supporting all areas of the business and our executives.
  • Write, edit and execute on content for a wide range of communications materials including press releases, blogs, C-level presentations, video scripts and messaging/talking points, among other materials and channels.
  • Engage with business, product and functional leaders throughout the company to understand new initiatives, products, business direction and be able to communicate them externally to appropriate media/audiences.
  • Develop and manage editorial calendar and content for external facing PR materials.
  • Support the head of Corporate Communications in managing multiple global PR agencies and monitoring results.

Media Relations

  • Proactively pitch news and thought leadership topics delivering materials that are engaging, impactful and drive meaningful coverage in Tier 1 media outlets.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with reporters and other media contacts that focus on the technology and communications industry.
  • Prep, staff and monitor media interviews, including creating briefing materials and prepping company spokespeople.

Issues and Reputation Management

  • Collaborate with communications leaders on strategy around key policy initiatives and issues management activities.
  • Collaborate on issues management workflows and lead on external reactive and proactive communications development, including writing and executing on all customer-facing communications to ensure reputation management and ensure positive brand positioning.
  • Communicate on a variety of complex and technical topics, including security and engineering.

What You’ll bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, or related field
  • 10+ years of experience in corporate communications
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and verbal communication skills; mastery of AP style
  • Proven ability to translate complex topics into clear, compelling employee messaging
  • Strong media relations and issues management experience; existing tech-focused media relationships a plus
  • Trusted advisor to senior leadership with strong collaboration skills
  • Demonstrated leadership and project management expertise
  • Strategic thinker with interest in technology and software industries
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Delivers high-quality work under pressure; adept at managing multiple priorities
  • Proactive, dependable, and detail-oriented team player
