Job Summary:
Monitoring production schedules, tracking inventory levels, and coordinating with various departments—such as procurement, production, and shipping—to prevent bottlenecks and address any potential delays. They act as a vital communication link, liaising with planner, operations lead and buyers to resolve issues that could hinder production, ultimately contributing to efficient operations and on-time delivery of finished products.
Responsibilities:
- Track and manage the flow of parts and materials from suppliers to production, ensuring delivery timelines support manufacturing schedules.
- Communicate with suppliers, buyers, quality inspectors, and engineering teams to proactively resolve delays, shortages, or quality holds.
- Monitor supplier performance and escalate delivery risks to supply chain and program leadership.
- Support just-in-time (JIT) and lean manufacturing initiatives by ensuring material availability aligns with production demand.
- Expedite internal work orders and coordinate inter-departmental material movement to meet build schedules.
- Work closely with quality assurance to resolve discrepancies, non-conformances, and rework issues impacting material flow.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in ERP/MRP systems regarding order status, delivery commitments, and expediting actions.
- Attend daily production or program meetings to report on material status and expedite priorities.
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or coursework in supply chain, logistics, or business preferred.
- 2–4 years of experience in expediting, supply chain coordination, or production support, preferably in aerospace.
- Working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems (e.g., NetSuite, Job Boss, E2Shop, or similar).
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read and interpret part drawings, BOMs, and production schedules is a plus.
- Familiarity with AS9100, FAA, or other aerospace standards is highly desirable.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with aerospace suppliers and understanding of long lead-time materials.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Lean manufacturing or Six Sigma experience is a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and data tracking tool
Salary Range: $60,000 - $85,000
