Job Summary:
Responsible for management of all phases of program execution. Development of all program management related documentation such as: monthly status reports, PDR/CDR matter, program planning documentation, program management related CDRLs and presentations of program materials to relatively large technical teams and management, subcontractors, and customers.
Responsibilities:
Performance of program management tasking is inclusive of tasks identified below, with minimal supervision.
- Plans, directs, and monitors project(s) to ensure work scope, schedule, and budget are maintained. Responsible for the project level profit and loss.
- Defines, generates, and reviews project management related material.
- Ensures that all required resources such as engineering, manpower, production, and facilities are available for the program.
- Works closely with the assigned project staff to ensure adequate direction is provided regarding budgeting and execution of program.
- Works closely with the assigned project staff to ensure all program deliverables are met satisfactorily.
- Works closely with VTS management to ensure that all program risks and issues are identified early and proactively elevated and properly acted upon.
- Serves as primary customer contact for project information.
- Pursues follow-on and new business opportunities directly with customers.
- Ensure adherence to all internal Program Management processes.
- Participate in customer meetings, peer reviews, and problem-solving meetings.
- Input into creation of proposals for follow-on work.
- Travels up to 25% of the time to various customer locations.
- Other related job duties, as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- This job requires an individual with experience in managing: program staff, program budgets, program schedule to include – budgeted cost and schedule, actuals, estimate-to-complete, estimate-at-complete, risks, and earned value management within fixed price, cost type, and time & material contracts.
- This job requires an individual with excellent interpersonal communication skills (both spoken and written) to include communications with program teams, company management, business partners, and customers.
- This job involves direct customer contact to perform program management and business development functions.

Preferred:
- Management of rocket propulsion defense system programs
- Management of Missile Defense Agency programs with MAP/PMAP requirements
- Performing business development activities working directly with funding customer offices
Education:
Required: Bachelor’s degree with emphasis in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited
college/university. May consider equivalent experience in lieu of degree.
Preferred: Master’s degree with emphasis in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited
college/university. May consider equivalent experience in lieu of degree.
Skills:
- Experience with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Visio, Excel, and Project
- Experience with Altium, PSpice, and other electronic design and drawing software
- Aptitude for working with electromechanical systems, actuators, solenoids, and servos
- Understanding of basic electrical engineering concepts and theory for analog control systems
- Willingness to seek-out and assume increasing responsibilities as work-load changes
- Ability to multi-task in a highly collaborative team environment
- Ability to communicate effectively, with an emphasis on verbal and written communication
Other:
- Ability to travel approximately 20% of the time.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance at the appropriate level (requires U.S. Citizenship).
