The Master Production Scheduler will be located onsite in Pueblo, CO and reports to the Materials & Production Planning Manager. This role holds the highest level of schedule authority below the Materials & Production Planning Manager — owning the single, integrated master production schedule that governs what gets built, in what sequence, and by when across all active and emerging programs at Voyager Energetics. Where the Production Planner manages system execution, the Master Production Scheduler manages the plan itself: setting the schedule that drives everyone else’s work, developing the cross-program tradeoff recommendations when capacity or material cannot support all commitments simultaneously, and aligning the production schedule to program management and customer delivery requirements. This is a senior individual contributor role that requires both strong planning expertise and the credibility to drive schedule decisions across operations, engineering, and program leadership.

In this role, the essential functions are:

• Own and maintain the integrated master production schedule across all active and emerging programs within Voyager Energetics, serving as the single authoritative source of production priorities and delivery commitments.
• Translate customer contract milestones and delivery requirements into internal production schedules; serve as the planning function’s primary schedule point of contact for program reviews and delivery status meetings, escalating commitment conflicts to the Materials & Production Planning Manager.
• Develop and execute cross-program priority and sequencing decisions when capacity, material, or production constraints cannot support all programs simultaneously, escalating tradeoffs that affect customer delivery commitments to the Materials & Production Planning Manager — this ownership of the plan is the defining difference between this role and the Production Planner.
• Define and maintain master scheduling parameters — production horizons, planning fences, lot sizing policies, and frozen zone rules — within the planning system of record, and maintain the master schedule using spreadsheet or other manual methods during the period before ERP and MES scheduling functionality is fully stood up.
• Drive the formal planning cadence: lead weekly schedule reviews with operations and production leadership, conduct monthly capacity planning reviews, and facilitate cross-functional resolution of scheduling conflicts before they become delivery risks.
• Identify capacity constraints, vendor lead time risks, and structural schedule threats — recurring patterns, not one-off shortages — and develop schedule mitigation strategies in coordination with the Materials & Production Planning Manager.
• Provide functional direction to the Production Planner on work order release timing, planning horizon adjustments, and MRP parameter changes required to execute the master schedule. This role has no direct reports.
• Own the schedule performance metrics — on-time delivery, schedule attainment, and customer milestone adherence — and present these to operations and program leadership with root cause analysis and corrective action recommendations.
• Serve as the planning function’s subject matter representative to the scheduling workstream of the ERP/MRP and MES implementation — documenting scheduling configuration requirements, validating system-generated schedules against real program needs, and supporting the transition from manual planning to system-driven master scheduling.
• Maintain lot and batch scheduling integrity for energetics programs at the program level — sequencing propellant grain production, AP grinding, and assembly operations across programs to optimize throughput while meeting delivery commitments.

Basic Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening and State and Federal background checks.
• Eligible to obtain and maintain State and Federal explosives licenses.
• 5+ years of master scheduling or production planning experience in a manufacturing environment, with demonstrated ownership of a multi-program or multi-product master production schedule.
• Proven ability to make and defend cross-program priority decisions in a capacity-constrained environment.
• Strong working knowledge of master scheduling concepts: MPS, capacity requirements planning (CRP), rough-cut capacity planning (RCCP), scheduling fences, lot sizing, and demand management.
• Hands-on experience maintaining a master production schedule within an MRP/ERP environment, including the ability to translate scheduling needs into system configuration requirements; NetSuite and MES experience a plus.
• Demonstrated ability to build and maintain a master production schedule using spreadsheet or other manual methods in environments where ERP scheduling functionality is limited or not yet implemented.
• Strong analytical and communication skills; able to synthesize complex multi-program schedule data into a clear picture for operations and program leadership.
• Experience presenting schedule status, risk, and recovery plans to senior leadership and program management stakeholders.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office including advanced Excel; experience with scheduling or project management tools such as Microsoft Project or Smartsheet.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in defense, aerospace, energetics, or other regulated manufacturing environments.
• Familiarity with DFARS, FAR, ITAR, or AS9100 requirements as they affect production scheduling, delivery obligations, and materials traceability.
• Experience supporting the scheduling workstream of an ERP or MES implementation, including scheduling configuration requirements and go-live validation.
• Familiarity with MES systems and integrated scheduling between shop-floor execution and ERP master scheduling environments.
• APICS CPIM or CSCP certification preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in supply chain, operations management, industrial engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.

Travel, Physical and Government Mandated Requirements

• Travel up to 15%, including the possibility of overnights within the continental United States.
• This is an exempt, full-time position on a 9/80 schedule with one workday off every two weeks.
• Ability to lift, move, or carry items or equipment up to 50 pounds. Comfortable standing, walking, and working in an office and manufacturing environment; use of personal protective equipment required when on the production floor.
• Candidates must meet all eligibility requirements to obtain and maintain applicable state and federal explosives licenses, including minimum age requirements (21 and over), a drug-free workplace in compliance with the Drug-Free Workplace Act of 1988 (41 U.S.C. §§ 8101–8106), Executive Order 12564 (Drug-Free Federal Workplace), applicable Department of Defense directives including DoD Instruction 1010.09 and DFARS 252.226-7003, and successful completion of any legally required background investigations.
• To conform to U.S. export control regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the Export Administration Regulations (EAR), you must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State or U.S. Department of Commerce.

The good faith base salary range for this role is $85,000 – $115,000 per year at the time of this posting. Where you fall within the range depends on your experience, skills, and location. This range reflects base salary only and does not include benefits or bonus/incentive. This range may be adjusted in the future.
