Job Summary:

We are seeking highly motivated emerging talent to participate in a 10-week immersive internship program from June 7, 2027, to August 13, 2027. This program offers university students hands-on experience through project-based work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Throughout the program, Interns will have exposure to mentorship, networking, and professional development opportunities.

The Electrical Engineering intern will support Voyager Technologies at one of the following locations:

• San Diego, CA
• Houston, TX
• Long Beach, CA
• Pittsburgh, PA

The Electrical Engineering Intern will support the engineering team with a variety of activities related to electrical design, development, testing, documentation, and engineering support. This internship provides an opportunity to apply foundational electrical engineering knowledge to real-world projects while working alongside experienced engineers and cross-functional teams.

The intern may contribute to projects involving electrical design, component selection, circuit development, engineering documentation, testing, troubleshooting, or other electrical engineering activities based on current business and engineering priorities.

Responsibilities

• Assist with electrical engineering design, development, and analysis activities for assigned projects.
• Support the creation, review, and maintenance of electrical schematics, drawings, models, documentation, and other engineering artifacts.
• Assist with creating, updating, and maintaining engineering parts, components, libraries, and technical databases.
• Support mid-level and senior engineers with project-related engineering tasks and deliverables.
• Assist with component research, selection, and documentation as appropriate.
• Participate in electrical testing, troubleshooting, and evaluation activities as appropriate.
• Support the collection, organization, and analysis of engineering data and test results.
• Assist with documenting technical information, design decisions, processes, and test activities.
• Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, systems, software, manufacturing, and other cross-functional teams as needed.
• Participate in engineering reviews, team meetings, training sessions, and other learning opportunities.
• Contribute ideas for process improvement, engineering efficiency, and operational effectiveness.
• Complete assigned projects and deliverables accurately and within established timelines.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program at an accredited university, preferably pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• Demonstrated understanding of fundamental electrical engineering principles and concepts.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
• Strong communication, organizational, and attention-to-detail skills.
• Ability to learn and apply new engineering tools, processes, and methodologies.
• Familiarity with electrical engineering design, simulation, or documentation tools preferred.
• Ability to travel for in-person orientation and program kickoff, as well as for the final presentation at program completion.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous internship, coursework, academic project, laboratory experience, or other relevant experience related to electrical engineering.
• Experience with circuit design, schematic capture, PCB design, electrical testing, or troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with electrical engineering software or tools such as Altium, MATLAB, LTspice, or similar platforms.
• Experience working with engineering drawings, component libraries, bills of materials, or technical documentation.
• Hands-on experience with laboratory equipment, test equipment, prototyping, or electronics development.
• Exposure to multidisciplinary engineering projects or cross-functional development environments.

Hourly Pay Range: $27.00 - $37.00 per hour

*Hourly rate determined by academic year, college major, line of business, geography
