Senior Director, Marketing

Los Angeles, CA

About Voyager

Voyager is an innovative space, defense, and national security technology company committed to advancing and delivering transformative, mission-critical solutions. We tackle the most complex challenges to unlock new frontiers for human progress, fortify national security, and protect critical assets to lead in the race for technological and operational superiority from ground to space.

The future belongs to those who build it. At Voyager, we are a company of doers, thinkers and builders, united by purpose and grounded in reality. If you want to put your skills to work where the stakes are real and the mission is bigger than any one person, forge the future with Voyager.

About the Role

Voyager is creating a new in-house studio and is seeking its first leader. The Senior Director, Marketing runs the studio that makes everything Voyager shows the world: film, photography, design and brand, at the level of the best studios, with AI as the production engine.

This is a creative leadership role with a strategic mandate. You will set the creative vision for how Voyager looks, sounds and tells its story across every format and audience, and you will build the production system that makes that work at speed and scale. You will lead a small, senior core team, bring in freelance camera crews as each project demands, and work directly with founders and C-suite leaders, on set and in the room. You will report to the Vice President of Strategy and are expected to understand what every piece is built to do for the business before it is made.

What You’ll Do

Creative Direction and Brand

  • Set the creative vision and own the Voyager brand across every format, including film, photography, design, motion and digital.
  • Hold a single, consistent standard for how Voyager looks and sounds, and ensure every piece produced reflects it.
  • Direct the creative on every major production, from concept and treatment through final delivery.

Storytelling Across Our Six Markets

  • Develop compelling stories for Voyager’s six markets: See, Strike, Shield, LEO, Lunar, and Lagrange.
  • Translate complex technology and mission-critical work into stories that audiences understand and remember.
  • Partner with Strategy and business leaders to tie each piece to a clear objective and audience.

AI-First Production Pipeline

  • Design, build and run a production pipeline that uses AI as the engine, built on Claude and modern tools.
  • Embed AI across concepting, production and post-production, and set the studio’s standards for how it is used.
  • Continually evaluate new tools and techniques, and adopt those that raise quality or speed without lowering the bar.

Production and Crews

  • Hire, direct and manage freelance camera crews per project as demand requires, flexing capacity up and down without a permanent crew.
  • Direct founders and C-suite leaders on camera and on set with confidence, ensuring they are prepared and at their best.

Studio Operations

  • Own the studio budget and manage vendors, with accountability for cost, schedule and results.
  • Own the quality bar: review work at key stages and ensure nothing leaves the studio below the standard.

Team Leadership

  • Lead, coach and develop the studio’s direct reports: the Director / Cinematographer; the Editor, Video and Motion Graphics; and the Senior Designer, Brand.
  • Set clear priorities, give direct feedback, and build a team culture of craft, speed and accountability.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of relevant experience.
  • Experience as an executive producer or creative director at a top studio, agency or brand.
  • A portfolio that stands with the best in the world.
  • Proven trust to direct founders and C-suite leaders on set.
  • Fluency in business strategy, with a clear sense of what each piece is built to do.
  • Daily, hands-on experience building with AI, demonstrated in a live work sample.

How You’ll Be Evaluated

Candidates will be asked to show their work, including a portfolio review and a live work sample that demonstrates how they build with AI. Strong candidates will pair exceptional craft with the judgment to connect creative work to business outcomes.
