Meet The People is seeking an experienced Part-Time Controller / Senior Accounting Consultant to provide hands-on accounting and financial support across our multi-entity organization. This is a part-time, remote contractor opportunity for an experienced accounting professional who can step in quickly, bring structure to complex accounting matters, and serve as a trusted second set of eyes across our close and reporting processes.

This role is expected to require approximately 20–25 hours per week, with the potential to expand in scope over time based on business needs.

Role Overview

You’ll work across multiple entities and brands within Meet The People, partnering closely with finance and operational leaders to support consolidated accounting, intercompany activity, tax strategy, close processes, and accounting policies.

The ideal candidate is technically strong, highly organized, comfortable working with imperfect or evolving data, and able to influence stakeholders across the organization without direct authority.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Other duties may be assigned)

  • Oversee the intercompany elimination process and ensure appropriate accounting and reconciliation across entities.
  • Support Canadian tax strategy, including deferred tax assets and cross-border loan activity.
  • Operate and maintain the consolidated trial balance model, coordinating closely with the finance team.
  • Review accounting policies and balance sheet accounts, identifying discrepancies, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop and maintain a Chart of Accounts for Meet The People’s Canadian entity.
  • Support the Loomis accounting transition, coordinating with internal stakeholders to ensure a smooth handoff.
  • Provide a second set of eyes across month-end close processes, reviewing accounting activity and identifying items requiring additional attention.
  • Support ad hoc technical accounting, reporting, and financial analysis as needed.

Potential Longer-Term Responsibilities

Depending on business needs and performance, the role may expand to include:

  • Holdco accounting support and ERP migration assistance.
  • Consolidated cash positioning across Meet The People entities.
  • Business Central reporting and consolidation.
  • Ongoing intercompany accounting and eliminations.
  • Backup support for external audit relationships.
  • Technical accounting and policy review across entities.
  • Development or support of an internal audit function.

Qualifications - To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  • CPA required; candidates with significant senior-level finance and technical accounting experience may also be considered.
  • 8–15 years of relevant finance/accounting experience, with strong technical accounting knowledge and the ability to confidently review trial balances, intercompany entries, and balance sheet activity.
  • Experience working in a multi-entity or multi-brand environment.
  • Strong cross-functional communication skills and the ability to work effectively with senior leaders and entity-level VPs through influence rather than direct authority.
  • ERP implementation or migration experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central is a strong plus.
  • Comfortable working with imperfect or evolving data and building reliable analysis and reporting while systems and processes are still being refined.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Experience in media, marketing services, advertising/agency, or professional services is preferred.
  • Able to work independently, prioritize competing needs, and step into a fast-moving environment with minimal ramp-up time.

OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 07/31/2029

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
