VSC Fire & Security in Richmond, Virginia is seeking candidates for the position of Human Resources Generalist.

What you need:

Proven experience (0-1 years) as an HR Generalist or similar role, demonstrating a solid understanding of HR principles and practices.
Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field.
Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and conflict resolution skills.
Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities.
Proficient in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with professionalism and discretion.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment.
Desirable (but not required):
- SHRM or PHR certification.

What you will do:

Assist in the end-to-end recruitment process, including job posting, and resume screening.
Coordinate new hire onboarding activities, including orientation, paperwork, and I-9s.
Address employee inquiries and concerns, provide guidance on HR policies and procedures, and contribute to fostering a positive work environment.
Mediate and resolve employee conflicts as needed.
Administer employee benefits programs, such as health insurance, retirement plans, and leave management.
Assist employees with benefits-related inquiries and ensure accurate records are maintained.
Support the performance management process by assisting in goal setting, performance evaluations, and development plans.
Ensure compliance with federal and state employment laws and regulations.
Assist in the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records and documentation.
Compile HR data, generate reports, and analyze trends to provide insights for management decision-making.
Utilize HRIS systems to manage and track employee information.
Contribute to various HR projects, such as employee engagement initiatives, diversity and inclusion programs, and process improvement efforts.
