About You
We are looking for a People Operations Manager to lead and optimize key people programs, contributing to both strategy and execution. This position reports into our Head of People and will work closely with the rest of the People Operations (POps) and regularly collaborate with other functions to ensure our employee, team, and business needs are not only met but exceeded. You’re ideal for this role if you thrive on switching between high-level strategic planning and hands-on, day-to-day execution, with a passion for leveraging data and owning programs from inception to completion. You have playbooks from your past experience yet you’re also innovative, thinking from first principles to introduce fresh approaches when necessary.
The day-to-day
- Lead our onboarding and offboarding programs from both a back-end process and employee-facing experience and provide quarterly insights
- Manage and enhance the workflows and internal reporting within our HRIS and Payroll systems
- Partner with accounting to oversee payroll processing and the relationship with our payroll vendor
- Partner regularly with our DEI Committee to provide support and guidance for our company-wide programs
- Act as the driver for our employee swag programs
- Ensure VSCO's people practices are in compliance with legal requirements and designed in a way to support VSCO, including managing multi-state compliance needs for employees and contractors
- Be a key contributor to our internal compensation processes, including salary band reviews, compensation adjustments and equity refreshes
- Partner with Marketing to maintain our employer branding program
Qualifications
- 3-4 years of relevant experience in a people operations role
- Demonstrated experience applying knowledge of federal and multi-state employment law and driving compliance work
- Working knowledge of modern compensation best practices, including salary benchmarking and equity management
- Familiarity and experience extracting data from various systems/sources and cleaning, aggregating, and visualizing data to provide insights and recommendations
- Demonstrated ability to develop unique and relevant employee experience programs that enhance engagement and retention
- Experience working in a remote-first startup environment
Nice to haves
- Experience with Paylocity and/or Sapling
- Experience working with state agencies to clarify requests and process claims
- SHRM or PHR certification

Compensation
The base salary for this position may vary based on several factors, including the approved job level. The base salary range for this role is $130,000 - $150,000. Salary is one component of our total compensation package. This position also qualifies for equity (i.e. stock options) and is eligible for discretionary bonuses based on performance. The benefits available for this position include flexible time off, a 401K retirement plan, insurance (medical, dental, vision, life/AD&D, short and long term disability), and 11 paid holidays. We also provide paid sick time as required by state and local law. Additional benefits and perks contained in our standard employee benefits package are also offered for this position.
