About the role

VSCO is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Performance Marketing Manager to lead our paid media, acquisition, and app store optimization efforts. This role is pivotal in driving user growth and engagement by strategically leveraging various performance marketing channels. The ideal candidate will possess a strong analytical mindset, a deep understanding of the mobile app ecosystem, and a passion for creative communities. You will be responsible for optimizing campaigns across platforms, managing budgets, and delivering actionable insights to achieve our acquisition goals.

The day-to-day

  • Paid Media Strategy & Execution:
    • Develop and execute comprehensive paid media strategies across various platforms (e.g., Meta Ads, Google Ads, TikTok Ads, Apple Search Ads, etc.) to drive user acquisition and engagement.
    • Manage and optimize campaign budgets, bids, and targeting to maximize ROI.
    • Conduct A/B testing and analyze campaign performance to identify areas for improvement.
    • Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in paid media.

  • Acquisition Marketing:
    • Drive user acquisition through a data-driven approach, focusing on key metrics such as CAC, LTV, and retention.
    • Identify and evaluate new acquisition channels and opportunities.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (product, design, engineering) to optimize the user onboarding and conversion funnel.
  • App Store Optimization (ASO) & App Store Ads:
    • Develop and implement ASO strategies to improve app visibility and organic downloads.
    • Conduct keyword research, optimize app store listings (title, description, screenshots, videos), and monitor app store rankings.
    • Manage and optimize Apple Search Ads.
    • Analyze and report on ASO performance and provide recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Affiliate Marketing:
    • Manage and grow a VSCO affiliate program.
    • Identify and onboard new affiliate partners.
    • Track and analyze affiliate performance, and optimize campaigns to drive conversions.
  • Reporting & Analytics:
    • Develop and maintain comprehensive performance reports and dashboards.
    • Analyze data to identify trends, insights, and opportunities for optimization.
    • Provide regular updates and recommendations to stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Marketing, Business, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in performance marketing, with a focus on mobile app acquisition.
  • Proven track record of success in managing paid media campaigns across various platforms.
  • Strong understanding of ASO principles and best practices.
  • Experience managing affiliate marketing programs.
  • Proficient in using analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, AppsFlyer, Adjust).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Experience working in the creative/photography app space or another app aimed at a relatively small slice of professionals and hobbyists is highly preferred.
  • Passion for photography and the creative community is a plus.

Nice to haves

  • Experience with media measurement and data visualization tools.
  • Knowledge of mobile app development and product management.
  • Familiarity with marketing automation platforms.

Compensation

The base salary for this position will vary based on several factors, such as relevant experience, location and your approved internal leveling assessed during the interview process. The base salary range for this role is $160,000 - $175,000. Salary is one component of our total compensation package. This position also qualifies for equity (i.e. stock options) and is eligible for discretionary bonuses based on performance. The benefits available for this position include flexible time off, a 401K retirement plan, insurance (medical, dental, vision, life/AD&D, short and long term disability), and 11 paid holidays. We also provide paid sick time as required by state and local law. Additional benefits and perks contained in our standard employee benefits package are also offered for this position.
