About The Role

We're looking for a Staff Product Designer to join our design team and lead high-impact design initiatives across our portfolio. You'll own products end-to-end — from strategy and problem framing through interaction design, visual craft, and delivery. This role will be responsible for designing our next generation of photography business management tools and the AI frameworks that drive them. This is a product-defining role where you'll be a primary design voice, working closely with product, engineering, and data to shape strategy, define what gets built, and drive measurable outcomes.

At VSCO, our product, design, and engineering squads work closely and move fast because we've embraced AI-first processes across the team. Our team uses AI-assisted tools like Cursor as a core part of how we design, prototype, and ship. We're looking for someone with hands-on experience using these tools and we're looking for someone comfortable designing within this workflow — where rapid ideation, quick iteration, and early testing are core to how we ship while still holding a high bar for craft.

The Day to Day

  • Own Workspace end-to-end, from strategy and problem framing through activation loop design, upgrade experience, and paid product delivery.
  • Define the AI Agent experience: interaction model, agent behaviors, escalation logic, tone, and how conversation hands off to UI.
  • Work with your squad (PM, design, and engineering) to shape product direction, drive alignment on what gets built, and push back on platform limitations with clear rationale.
  • Communicate design direction to senior leadership and drive alignment across functions.
  • Use AI-assisted tools (Cursor, Claude, v0) for speed and exploration, return to Figma for craft refinement and system alignment, and ensure the quality of what ships reflects a high standard.
  • Contribute to VUI, ensuring Workspace and AI agent components are well-structured and token-compliant.
  • Mentor other designers on interaction principles, systems thinking, and AI-assisted workflows.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of product design experience, including 0 to 1 work in ambiguous, fast-moving environments
  • High AI fluency and a proven track record using AI-assisted design and prototyping tools (Cursor, Claude, v0) as an active part of your workflow
  • Experience designing AI-powered or agent-driven product experiences with a clear point of view on trust, transparency, and user control
  • Exceptional interaction and visual design skills, with a high bar for craft at every stage of delivery
  • Strong portfolio showing strategic product thinking alongside polished, shipped work across mobile and web
  • Experience designing business tools, CRM-adjacent products, or workflow-driven experiences
  • Strong systems thinking: you design scalable patterns and think about how decisions ripple across surfaces
  • Track record of influencing product roadmap and tying design decisions to business outcomes
  • Experience working within and contributing to a design system

Job Perks

  • Hybrid work with an office in San Francisco, CA
  • Regular in-person events events to connect and collaborate
  • Competitive salary & equity
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance for employees and families
  • Flexible Time Off
  • Company-paid parental, medical and caregiver leave
  • Other perks including mental health resources and tech reimbursements

Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
