Engineering Manager, Pricing & Promotions
ABOUT THE ROLE
The Engineering Manager we are looking for has a strong technical background as a Senior Software Engineer and will take on both technical leadership and people management responsibilities. Their duties include supporting the team in defining the technical direction, ensuring execution excellence, meeting deadlines, tracking career development, planning and managing team priorities. This position requires a strong technical foundation and well-developed interpersonal skills.
ABOUT THE TEAM
This role will support the management of the Pricing & Promotions team, which is already fully staffed and operating efficiently. You’ll be joining a well-structured, high-performing team with a steady delivery pace. The team has a mid-level seniority overall and is composed of 7 engineers. The main technical demand is on the backend side.
Pricing is our critical-path price management platform, built with a strong focus on performance, resilience, and robust architectural design. It integrates deeply with Checkout and supports complex pricing scenarios for large clients. Promotions, on the other hand, is currently undergoing a complete admin UI rewrite and is heavily focused on building seamless integrations with other VTEX modules.
WHO YOU ARE
- Strong software architecture knowledge and experience with distributed systems;
- Strong background in complex technology environments, such as high-scalability systems;
- Proven experience leading high-performing engineering teams and delivering impactful projects;
- Strategic mindset with a pragmatic approach to execution and trade-off analysis;
- Experience with backend and frontend technologies;
- English proficiency at an intermediate level or higher.
