Senior Manager, Solutions Consultant - Activate

New York, New York, United States

VTS is seeking a Senior Manager, Solutions Consultant - Activate to assist and translate new business opportunity into a successful deployment plan across VTS Activate - the platform that extends VTS into building operations and the tenant experience, including access control, visitor management, work orders, and building services.

This role sits at the intersection of sales, solution design, and implementation readiness. Once an opportunity is qualified, the Solutions Consultant becomes the solutions expert alongside the Account Executive - translating a customer’s needs into a tailored Activate solution and, once the deal is won, into a complete solution design and implementation plan that hands off cleanly to the Implementation team. You will work predominantly through our major channel partners to start, expanding to the direct channel and other commercial clients over time, and partner closely with our Senior Technical Solutions Consultant, whose deep access-control expertise verifies and completes the solution you design.

Unlike a traditional pre-sales engineer focused only on the demonstration, or an implementation manager focused only on delivery, this position helps manage the full arc of solution implementation preparedness - from qualified opportunity, through solution design, to a clean handoff to implementation, with continued check-ins through launch. It carries deep product ownership of the Activate feature set, with particular emphasis on Access Control and Visitor Management.

This is a highly visible, senior individual-contributor role based in our New York office.

** Please note that this opportunity requires this hire to work from our NYC office four days a week. **

Here’s what you can expect as a Senior Manager, Solutions Consultant

  • Partner with the Account Executive as the Activate solutions expert from the moment an opportunity is qualified
  • Develop expert-level command of the Activate feature set and tailor product messaging and demonstrations to each customer’s workflows and goals
  • Lead solution discovery: take ambiguous, complex requirements, define them with customers and stakeholders, and shape them into a clear, cohesive solution
  • Support the latter stages of the sale, including RFP responses, business and technical requirements, solution positioning, scoping, and alignment
  • Aggregate everything learned during the sale into a single solution design - requirements, the technologies and features being deployed, and the rollout schedule - documented in the deal journal
  • Produce a complete, unambiguous handoff package so the Implementation team can execute without rework
  • Partner with the Senior Technical Solutions Consultant to verify and complete the solution - integrations, APIs, custom development, and access-control specifics
  • Review the plan with Implementation at kickoff and stay engaged through deployment with defined check-in points to keep projects on track
  • Operate as one half of a Sales Director / Solutions Consultant tandem supporting significant new-bookings growth across partner-managed and direct portfolios
  • Collaborate day-to-day with Sales, the Senior Technical Solutions Consultant, Implementation, and Integrations - primarily in Salesforce, with exposure to tools such as Jira and Airtable
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to customers and internal stakeholders, and evangelize the Activate vision across the commercial real estate ecosystem

What makes you a great fit?

  • Experience in a pre-sales or solutioning role - Solutions Consultant, Sales Engineer, Technical Account Manager, Pre-Sales Consultant, or a Customer Success Manager ready to move into pre-sales
  • SaaS background required, with a proven track record of playing the solutions/pre-sales role well and telling a compelling product-to-value story (the industry it was in matters less than how well you did it)
  • Exceptional client-facing and facilitation skills - personable, credible with executives, and able to command a room and drive a meeting
  • Highly process and project management oriented, able to manage complex solution definition end-to-end and bring structure to ambiguity
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate technical capability into measurable business value
  • Ability to ramp quickly on the Activate platform, including Access Control and Visitor Management
  • Comfortable working in Salesforce; exposure to implementation or ticketing tools such as Jira or Airtable a plus
  • Commercial real estate or proptech experience a plus, but not required
  • Familiarity with access-control, physical-security, or building-systems ecosystems a plus
  • New York–based, able to work from our office and travel up to ~25% (a few days per month for client meetings and QBRs)

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
