Vultr is seeking a Deal Desk Manager to lead the review of all key customer pricing proposals and material customer contracts, as well as the structuring, review, and approval of strategic, complex, and non-standard commercial agreements. This role is pivotal in enabling our sales organization to close business efficiently while ensuring profitability, compliance, and operational scalability. The ideal candidate will bring deep experience in cloud infrastructure or AI/ML, along with a strong understanding of multi-year, consumption-based contracts. What to expect:
Deal Structuring & Commercial Support
- Partner with Sales, Finance, Sales Engineering, Legal and Product teams to design optimal commercial terms for strategic and enterprise deals, including multi-year commitments, tiered pricing, and GPUaaS consumption models.
- Develop pricing scenarios and financial models to assess margin, payback period, revenue recognition timing, and credit risk related to customer contracts and pricing proposals.
- Optimize deal economics while balancing customer requirements and company policy.
Contract & Quote Management
- Review order forms, statements of work, and master service agreements for accuracy and compliance.
- Oversee contract lifecycle management (CLM) tool workflows to ensure timely execution.
Cross-Functional Coordination
- Serve as the central point of contact between Sales, Legal, Finance, Product, and Customer Success during the quote to contract process.
- Drive deal review calls and present deal summaries and recommendations to executive approvers.
- Liaise with Channel Sales team to ensure partner-driven deals meet both channel program terms and internal commercial policies.
Process Optimization & Enablement
- Develop and maintain deal desk playbooks, approval matrices, and quoting guidelines specific to infrastructure-as-a-service and AI platform offerings.
- Train Sales and Channel teams on quoting tools (Salesforce, e-signature, and CPQ), deal approval workflows, and pricing best practices.
- Lead continuous improvement projects for the quote-to-order process.
Policy & Compliance Oversight
- Enforce internal approval thresholds for discounts, payment terms, and contract clauses.
- Ensure all transactions comply with:
- U.S. export control laws and applicable sanctions (e.g., OFAC).
- Data sovereignty and localization requirements in applicable geographies (including Middle East, APAC, and EU).
- Work with Legal to identify and mitigate risks in customer contracts, including IP protection, SLAs, and liability caps.
- Identify and help mitigate credit risk through contract structures.
Our new team member will need:
- Experience: 5–8+ years in deal desk, commercial operations, or sales operations in enterprise tech (IaaS, cloud, or SaaS).
- Skills:
- Expert-level Salesforce CRM & CPQ skills.
- Strong Analytical and Quantitative Skills.
- Strong Excel / Google Sheets modeling skills (Gross Margin, Payback period, IRR, and revenue scenario modeling).
- Understanding of revenue recognition principles.
- Attributes: Strong commercial judgment, ability to balance speed and rigor, effective communicator, thrives in high-growth, fast-paced environments.
Compensation:
$85,000 - $100,000
This salary can vary based on location, years of experience, background and skill set.
