Join Vultr
Vultr is seeking a Marketplace Developer to build, maintain, and expand Vultr's Marketplace offerings. The Vultr Marketplace enables customers to deploy popular applications with a single click, streamlining the deployment process for many popular software stacks. This role will be responsible for creating and maintaining marketplace applications, working directly with vendors and internal teams to ensure seamless integration experiences for Vultr’s customers. to build, maintain, and expand Vultr's Marketplace offerings. The Vultr Marketplace enables customers to deploy popular applications with a single click, streamlining the deployment process for many popular software stacks. This role will be responsible for creating and maintaining marketplace applications, working directly with vendors and internal teams to ensure seamless integration experiences for Vultr’s customers.
What to expect:
- Identify and prioritize new marketplace application offerings based on customer inquiry, market trends, and business objectives.
- Build and maintain existing and new marketplace applications using snapshots and open source automated deployment scripts.
- Collaborate with third-party application providers to onboard their applications to the marketplace, providing technical guidance and ensuring quality standards.
- Develop and maintain internal and customer facing documentation, including deployment guides, configuration instructions, and troubleshooting resources.
- Work closely with the Developer Relations team to create educational content, tutorials, etc for marketplace offerings.
- Provide technical feedback and platform feature requests to engineering teams based on Marketplace user needs and vendor requirements.
- Maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated testing, building, and deployment of marketplace applications
Qualifications:
- Proficiency in Bash and PHP for scripting and automation tasks.
- Strong Linux System Administration experience with deep understanding of package management and service configuration.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools including Terraform, Ansible, and HashiCorp Packer.
- Hands-on experience building CI/CD pipelines using GitLab Runners and/or GitHub Actions
- Understanding of L2/L3 networking fundamentals including VLANs, routing, and firewall configuration.
Nice to Have:
- Familiarity with Python and Go or Rust for advanced automation and tooling development.
- Previous experience with cloud-init for cloud infrastructure provisioning
- Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, logging systems)
