Join Vultr

Vultr is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nodal Trust & Safety Investigator that will report to the Director of Operations, India and Sr. Manager Trust and Safety - US. In this role, act as Vultr India Private Ltd’s official collaborator with legal authorities for Vultr in India, supporting and facilitating all communication with federal, regional, and local authorities. This includes responding to official requests, inquiries, and complaints as they pertain to legal inquiries from the global law enforcement community and other legal entities. This will require collaborating with multiple Vultr global and third party entities including Vultr Legal, Trust and Safety, Compliance, and Engineering, India authorities (local, CERT-In, MHO, MEITy, etc). Prompt responses are vital for the success of this role due to the nature of the inquiries.] The ideal candidate will engage in cross-team collaboration; whether it is with the US law enforcement response team, the SecOps team, storage team, privacy team, responding to requests made to local Vultr India employees, or other internal teams to review expanding feature requirements to support legal requests (eg, intricacies of collaborating with an analyst to conduct investigations of fraudulent activities). Manages and processes lawful requests for user data or information from law enforcement and other government agencies. This often involves a 24/7 coordination role to ensure timely and legally compliant responses. Respond to all in person or local communication requests from law enforcement and participate in verification of legal authentication and authorization. This is a highly visible role in a high-growth technology company, which will require [reviewing inquiries regarding account closure due to Terms of Service (TOS) violations, copyright violations, spam violations, phishing abuse, malware complaints, fraud related activities, revenge porn complaints, Child Sexual Abuse Material and Child Sexual Exploitation Material complaints, account closure due to non-payment, national security matters, and other violations on our platform]. Key Responsibilities

  • Respond to legal requests from India’s law enforcement and other government agencies
  • Respond and collaborate with CERT-In regarding cyber security incidents
  • Collaborate with the US LER team to fulfill legal requests
  • Collaborate with SecOps and LER to ensure accurate reporting of cyber security incidents
  • Occasional travel to police stations in India whenever necessary
  • Conduct proper vetting of legal inquiries from unfamiliar law enforcement agencies (this includes collaborating with attorneys in India that have been approved by Vultr and other agencies if necessary.

Qualifications

  • Two to Three years experience as a Nodal Officer, Trust & Safety professional, or a related field.
  • A comprehensive understanding of India regulations and can demonstrate applying Nodal point of contact communication requirements where applicable:
    • IT Act 2000
    • India DPDPA
    • IT Intermediary Guidelines 2021
  • Experience communicating with third parties regarding sensitive data
  • Experience in communicating with India Federal and local legal authorities
    • Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In), Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MEITy), Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), etc.
  • Experience with triaging important tasks in an organized manner
  • Analytical skills with attention to detail
  • Experience with office suite products (Microsoft Office or Google Workspace)
  • Excellent communication skills or report writing skills
  • Ability to remain composed while viewing sensitive subject matter
  • Experience working with confidential information
  • Ability to pass a background check
  • Familiarity with multiple OS platforms including Windows and Linux
  • Understanding of global privacy frameworks
  • Experience with maintaining logs (specifically for a Cloud Services Provider)
  • Familiarity with ticketing management systems (ie, Jira, ServiceNow, etc.)
  • The ideal candidate will be able to start within 30 days and is able to work in New Delhi, India
