Our Sales team is seeking a Director of Deal Execution who will report directly to the VP of Sales and play a pivotal role in driving operational excellence across Vultr’s global GPUaaS and Cloud Infrastructure business.
As the Director of Deal Execution, you will serve as the operational quarterback for complex, high-value deals, ensuring speed and accuracy across commercial and contractual processes. You’ll collaborate closely with Sales, Solutions Engineering, Legal, and Finance teams to streamline deal execution, manage customer engagements, and ensure timely deal closure.
This role is ideal for a commercially savvy leader who combines negotiation expertise, operational rigor, and process execution to accelerate deal closure and revenue growth.
Key Responsibilities
Deal Negotiation & Execution
- Lead commercial negotiations as the primary point of contact for high-value customers in strategic GPUaaS opportunities, driving deal progression from proposal to execution.
- Collaborate closely with Sales, Solutions Engineering, Legal, and Finance to develop creative, commercially sound deal structures that align with Vultr’s financial, legal, and operational goals, and accurately reflect business intent and commitments.
- Partner with the VP of Sales to forecast deal timelines, anticipate redline cycles, and ensure Executive alignment on major commercial terms.
Deal Acceleration & Commercial Strategy
- Analyze negotiation patterns and bottlenecks, and partner with leadership to implement faster, scalable deal resolution frameworks.
- Provide tactical coaching to Account Executives on negotiation strategy, pricing guardrails, and customer-facing communication during deal negotiations and closure.
Cross-Functional Deal Coordination
- Proactively align internal stakeholders, including Customer Success, Engineering, and Infrastructure Operations, and external teams, including customer supplier management, around scope, delivery timelines, fulfillment, onboarding, and compliance requirements.
- Maintain clear and timely communication with Executive Leadership on deal status, risks, and timelines.
Contract Finalization & Closure
- Drive final contract redlines and negotiations through to agreement with the customer’s Legal and Procurement teams, reaching mutually acceptable terms quickly.
- Anticipate negotiation obstacles and propose alternatives that protect Vultr’s commercial position while ensuring timely deal approvals, signatures, and documentation..
- Partner with Legal to escalate and resolve critical negotiation points, balancing risk management with deal momentum.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or related field; MBA or JD preferred.
- 8–12 years of experience in Sales, Deal Desk, and Contract Management, ideally within cloud infrastructure, SaaS, or enterprise technology.
- Proven success managing complex, multi-stakeholder enterprise deals.
- Strong understanding of pricing models and contract structures.
- Exceptional project management, organization, negotiation and communication skills.
- Ability to balance commercial creativity with compliance and risk management.
- Familiarity with CRM, CPQ, and contract lifecycle management tools (e.g., Docusign, Salesforce, Ironclad).
Compensation
$100,000 - $125,000 + commission
This salary can vary based on location, years of experience, background and skill set.
