Assistant Site Manager/Trainer - Savannah, GA

The primary responsibility will be to support the International Paper Savannah Mill Site Manager with a focus on training Officers both permanent and temporary that are assigned to the International Paper Savannah Mill. Will also be responsible for ensuring that the post orders are being followed by the team. 


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

The role will support the Site Manager, which includes, but is not limited to ,the following:
•    Plan and coordinate all On the Job training with incoming Officers and retraining of all current Officers.
•    Prepare materials and planning activities for all training events.
•    Maintain training records of all IP Officers and ensure sufficient Officers are cross trained in each position in the event additional coverage is required for any reason.
•    Responsible for TAPPISAFE training for all incoming Officers permanent and temporary.
•    Follow-up with quarterly refresher training provided through the Walden LMS to ensure all training is completed in a timely manner.
•    Develop measurement tools to evaluate the effectiveness of instruction or training interventions.
•    Maintain a record of all uniforms and equipment issued to Officers and be responsible for coordinating with the Charleston Office if any new, replacement or additional Uniforms are needed.
•    Assist the Site Manager in coordinating staffing and scheduling as needed.
•    Work together with the Site Manager to ensure Post Orders are continually maintained and up to date. Conduct internal audits to ensure accuracy and compliance.
•    This role will require the Assistant Site Manager to be 100% trained and competent at each of the following positions: Main Gate, Gate 10E, Gate 27B, Roving Patrol.
•    This role will require the Assistant Site Manager to be available for any shifts/day to accommodate training needs for Officers on various schedules.
•    This role will also require the Assistant Site Manager to be able to work a post (Main Gate, 10E, 27B or Roving Patrol) if there is an open position that needs to be covered or no critical training to be done at the time of request.
•    Any other essential duties and responsibilities that the Site Manager deems necessary for this role.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities, but the Assistant Site Manager is expected to lead by example and be capable of providing coaching and corrective action if an Officer does not meet the performance standards set forth by both Walden Security and International Paper. The Assistant Site Manager should be ready to step in and supervise staff when the Site Manager is off-site or unavailable.

QUALIFICATIONS:  

•    Aptitude for learning and managing technology platforms.
•    Clean driving record (MVR)
•    ability to pass a background check and obtain a GA Unarmed Security License
•    Strong management skills
•    Excellent communication skills (written, verbal and presentation skills)
•    Proven ability to manage competing priorities, multitask, take ownership of problems and resolve conflicts.
•    Ability to think systematically.
•    Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
•    1-2 years of supervisory experience

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:  

Minimum High School Diploma or GED; Associate degree preferred. One year of experience in training.
Experience in the security industry preferred.  

LANGUAGE SKILLS:  

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations using the English language.  Ability to write reports, internal business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:  

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. 

REASONING ABILITY:  

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or schedule form.

COMPUTER SKILLS:  

 To perform this job successfully, the Assistant Site Manager/Trainer should possess intermediate to advanced skills in:
•    Microsoft Office 
•    Learning Management Systems
•    Ability to learn other software programs as needed

Ability to pass a drug screen and criminal background check.
