Content Specialist - Chattanooga, TN
Summary
This is a junior-level proposal support resource to assist with security guard service proposals in the Federal, State, Local, and Higher Education (SLED) space. This role is ideal for someone with 1–2 years of experience in proposal development, writing, or document formatting, particularly someone skilled in using large language models (LLMs - GPT, Grok, etc.) to generate and refine written content. The ideal candidate should have a demonstrated understanding of prompt generation/engineering and an interest in exploring new ways to use LLMs to accomplish tasks more efficiently and creatively. They should also be comfortable working with graphic design tools like Adobe Acrobat, Illustrator, or Canva to support visual elements such as org charts, tables, and infographics. This is not a proposal management role. Instead, the focus is on generating compliant, well-structured content and visuals in response to RFPs. Candidates should be detail-oriented, collaborative, and curious about using AI tools in dynamic and evolving ways.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- AI-Driven Content Support
- Write and revise content using LLM tools like GPT4 based on prompts aligned with solicitation requirements.
- Apply prompt engineering techniques to improve the precision, tone, and structure of AI-generated content.
- Collaborate with proposal managers and subject matter experts to refine and finalize AI-assisted content.
- Support drafting of key sections such as technical approaches, staffing plans, transition strategies, past performance, and executive summaries.
- RFP Compliance and Document Management
- Interpret basic RFP instructions and evaluation criteria to ensure responses are compliant and responsive.
- Review and edit proposal narratives to align with the scope of work, evaluation factors, and customer requirements.
- Assist with proofreading, editing, and formatting proposals according to internal templates and external submission guidelines.
- Participate in internal draft reviews and confirm responses meet compliance checklists.
- Graphic and Visual Content Support
- Assist in the creation of basic visuals, including org charts, tables, infographics, and proposal covers using tools like Canva, Adobe Acrobat, or Illustrator.
- Assemble final proposal documents, incorporating text, graphics, exhibits, and attachments into cohesive, branded packages.
- Ensure visual content adheres to brand guidelines and is consistent across all materials.
- Content and Knowledge Management
- Help maintain a proposal content library, including up-to-date company overviews, past proposals, resumes, and templates.
- Leverage existing content and creative assets to present information clearly and consistently.
- Assist in organizing customer testimonials, project case studies, and client references for reuse in future bids.
- Proposal Production and Coordination
- Support proposal production tasks, including formatting, packaging, and final delivery (digital and print).
- Assist with the preparation of supporting materials for oral presentations, demos, and sales handouts.
- Update relevant proposal activity and content in internal databases or CRM tools.

The Content Specialist reports to the Content Manager. It requires no supervisory responsibilities.
