Senior Data Engineer

As a Senior Data Engineer on the Engineering Operations Team, you will play a hands-on role in the development of the data pipelines, transforming data, and creating dashboards for visualization. The goal of the Engineering Operations Team is to make data accessible, scalable, and actionable in support of product development programs. The ideal candidate possesses a strong aptitude for data analysis, effectively manages prioritization of complex tasks, and takes ownership of solutions.

What you'll work on: 

• Work collaboratively with stakeholders to define internal and external metrics & system requirements.
• Working with product and process owners to define and help architect key data sources.
• Create data models, reports & analyses to support business needs and convert raw data into meaningful insights through interactive and easy-to-understand dashboards and reports.
• Translate team’s needs into data solutions using data processing software & visualization tools such as Power BI and Power Apps.
• Develop advanced data queries combining information from disparate sources.
• Review, improve and optimize existing Power Query M queries, and Power BI reports/visualizations/metrics, while implementing best practices for data extraction, storage, and governance.
• Work on the implementation of technology needed to facilitate the transfer of data and integrations with internal and third-party applications.

What we're looking for:

• Desire to develop applications and solutions to address business-critical data challenges.
• Exposure to requirements analysis, design, and development process.
• Experience working with reporting & analytics tools.
• Experience in the architecture and development of scale-able production data analytics, reporting, and or enterprise data solutions.
• Excellent written & oral communication skills, and strong organizational & planning skills.
• Experience with Power BI data visualization tool
• Experience developing custom Power BI visuals highly desired
• Working knowledge with databases, data queries (Power Query M, SQL, KQL, or similar), DAX, Python, and statistical packages (R, Minitab or similar).
• Experience with Azure cloud data platform a plus.
• Experience with machine learning and or artificial intelligence is a plus.
• B.S or advanced degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Data Science, Business Analytics, or related field is preferred.
