Senior Manager, Software Engineering – Robot Control System

We’re seeking a Senior Manager to lead a team developing our Robot Control System software. In this role, you'll lead the continuous enhancement and maintenance of this software, mentoring and managing a dedicated team of engineers who are working on complex problems in tasking, routing, and planning swarms of robots.

What you’ll work on:

  • Lead the creation of reactive microservices in Java that efficiently manage customer orders and control and synchronize robots within our system.
  • Collaborate with leaders of our electrical, mechanical, and embedded teams to define precise software requirements.
  • Ensure that software produced by engineers is scalable and maintainable.
  • Provide supervision and development opportunities for our associates by mentoring, building a team-based work environment, and coaching for success and improvement.
  • Establish performance expectations and conducting regular performance evaluations, providing recognition and rewards.

What we’re looking for:

  • Experience managing a team developing software for robotics or automation systems products.
  • Understanding of reactive microservices or building event-driven distributed systems leveraging asynchronous actors.
  • Experience with messaging platforms such as Kafka.
  • Demonstrated success in agile environments, iterative development, feedback, and flexibility.
  • B.S. or higher in Computer Science, Data Science, or related field.
