The Communications & Social Media Intern role offers a college student or recent graduate the opportunity to embark on an exciting career in public relations and social media. You'll work alongside Wasabi’s award-winning communications team, contributing to impactful campaigns, strategizing on press, analyst, and social media activities, and gaining hands-on experience that will set you apart in your career.

Responsibilities:
Media Monitoring & Research
- Monitor for Wasabi media coverage and industry/competitor news.
- Help analyze PR metrics for Wasabi using tools like Muckrack and identify areas for optimization.
- Identify earned and social media opportunities for Wasabi via current trends or relevant stories.
- Maintain and update Wasabi media lists and identify new media targets.
PR & Social Content Support
- Assist in the creation of weekly editorial calendars for LinkedIn, Instagram, X, Threads, and Facebook.
- Work with the Social Media Specialist to compile weekly and monthly reports on reach, engagement, and audience growth.
- Support Wasabi’s thought leadership program by brainstorming ideas for executives’ LinkedIn accounts and actively participating in thought leadership sessions.
- Compile briefing documents for media interviews.
Administration & Special Projects
- Work with Communications Manager to manage Wasabi’s awards calendar, deadlines and submission process; flag new awards opportunities to the team.
- Help maintain Wasabi’s analyst relations tracker, including updating meeting schedules and helping to prepare for calls.
- Assist as needed with employer branding and special projects like the Wasabi Fenway Bowl.
- Learn and become proficient in internal software systems like Asana, MuckRack, and Slack.
- Understand the Wasabi brand, customer, product goals, and how its service works.
Requirements:
- Ideal candidates for this position will be completing a Communications, Public Relations or Journalism degree.
- Have experience with social media platforms including LinkedIn, Twitter, Threads, Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok.
- They will be a strong writer and collaborator.
