MANAGER, REVENUE ACCOUNTING

About the Job Wasabi Technologies, Inc. is seeking a dynamic and experienced Manager, Revenue Accounting to join our growing Finance organization and report to the Director, Assistant Controller. This role will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of revenue accounting in a high-volume and high-growth SaaS-based revenue environment, ensuring compliance with ASC 606 and US GAAP, and supporting scalable, automated revenue processes. Additionally, this role will help evaluate and leverage emerging technologies, including AI-enabled tools, to improve billing accuracy, revenue analytics, close efficiency, and control effectiveness as the Company continues to scale.

The ideal candidate brings deep technical revenue accounting expertise, strong operational discipline, and a passion for building efficient, compliant systems as the business scales globally. This individual will be a collaborative partner to Sales Ops, FP&A, and Business Systems teams, and will play a key role in monthly close, audits, and process improvement initiatives. Job Responsibilities

  • Own the end-to-end revenue accounting function, including contract review, revenue recognition, deferred revenue, billing alignment, and month-end close activities.
  • Perform technical accounting research and prepare revenue accounting position memos related to complex or non-standard customer contracts.
  • Manage and develop the Accounts Receivable team, including oversight of invoicing, collections, cash application, customer account reconciliations, and aging management.
  • Ensure compliance with ASC 606 and other applicable US GAAP requirements across all revenue streams.
  • Review customer contracts for revenue recognition implications, including pricing structures, variable consideration, contract modifications, and multiple performance obligations.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Sales Ops, Legal, FP&A, and Business Systems teams to support new deal structures and product offerings.
  • Monitor accounting literature for new revenue-related guidance and lead implementation of any changes impacting the Company.
  • Maintain and enhance revenue accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls as the Company continues to scale.
  • Manage revenue-related reconciliations and prepare supporting schedules for monthly, quarterly, and annual close.
  • Support external audits by preparing revenue schedules, audit support, and responding to auditor inquiries.
  • Lead or support automation initiatives related to billing, revenue recognition, and reporting within NetSuite and connected systems.
  •  Assist with financial statement preparation and related disclosures, including MD&A support as needed.
  • Recommend, establish, and maintain strong internal controls; contribute to the design and implementation of controls as applicable.
  • Manage and develop accounting team members supporting revenue operations.
  • Participate in ad-hoc accounting, finance, and system implementation projects as required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required, Masters degree preferred.
  • CPA strongly preferred
  • 8–10+ years of progressive accounting experience, with significant hands-on revenue accounting experience in a SaaS or recurring revenue environment.
  • Proven experience managing or leading AR and/or Billing teams.
  • Deep working knowledge of ASC 606 and revenue recognition for subscription-based business models.
  • Experience preparing or reviewing revenue- and AR-related disclosures and supporting audits.
  • Interest in or experience using AI-enabled finance tools, automation platforms, or advanced analytics to improve accounting and operational outcomes.
  • Strong systems experience, including NetSuite and Salesforce; experience with automated billing and revenue recognition tools a plus.
  • Advanced Excel skills required; experience with BI or analytics tools (e.g., Tableau) a plus.
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet tight close and reporting deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to explain complex accounting topics to non-accounting stakeholders.

Base Salary – $130,000– $160,000
The base salary range reflects the full range for this position at Wasabi Technologies. At Wasabi, we believe in paying fairly and competitively, and individual compensation is determined based on factors such as job-related experience, skills, location, and internal equity. Base pay is just one part of our total rewards approach. Depending on role eligibility, Wasabi team members may also receive additional compensation and benefits, including bonus or variable compensation, equity, and a comprehensive benefits package designed to support both professional growth and personal well-being.
