FLSA Status: Full Time, Non-Exempt
Reports to: REEF Operations Managers, Director of REEF
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 10AM - 6PM
Compensation: $28.95-$30.39/hour
Position Overview: Washington Yu Ying’s REEF program is searching for a bright, bubbly, and can-do Operations Assistant to bring energy, creativity, and joy to our after-school world! You’ll be the go-to hero for keeping things smooth behind the scenes, coordinating snacks, supporting staff, organizing field trips, answering parent questions, and keeping our kiddos safe, happy, and engaged. Essential Responsibilities, including but not limited:
Monitor and assist in the coordination of before and/or aftercare (REEF) programs for assigned grade levels.
- Manage the day-to-day program administration of REEF activities. Collaborate with the Director of REEF and appropriate staff to ensure aftercare classes, activities, field trips, etc., are age-appropriate and corresponding with the school’s mission and curriculum.
- Supervise students and ensure their safety during aftercare activities on campus and, if necessary, on field trips.
- Ensure that students are participating in the correct REEF classes each period.
- Supervise and lead all transitions during REEF.
- Supervise students and REEF staff on monthly field trips. Ensure students’ safety to and from field trips.
- Help manage student behavior issues at REEF programs. Promptly complete detailed incident reports and notify Operations Manager(s). Ensure that school-wide student discipline policy is used with all students.
- Serve as the first line of communication and point-of-contact with parents for any student related issues.
- Serve student snacks; recording snack counts; collaborating with business staff to ensure student snack administration is compliant with any federal, state, and local regulations.
- Ensure that all areas used during REEF programs are cleaned up with materials and snacks put away completely.
- Lead the program and make responsible decisions when the Operations Manager is unavailable.
- Manage inventory including efficient use of budget, ordering process, checking received items against purchases, making sure items make it to the right teachers.
- Answer parents' emails and questions.
- Assist in leading P.D.s and ongoing staff training.
- Assist with the tech-centered administration of the program, like dealing with registrations, parent accounts, payment systems, and more.
- Manage the REEF decorative and information displays.
- Ensure photography standards are met for our monthly newsletter.
Contribute to the development of REEF programs and staff.
- Ensure that your staff have proper materials for their classes each day.
- Assist REEF Leadership in developing new and special classes and writing new class guidelines and descriptions.
- Work with school administration to develop and implement processes and procedures to maintain the quality, security, and safety of REEF programs.
- Contribute to the development and documentation of REEF policies/procedures and REEF staff and family handbooks.
- Assist with the consistent implementation of REEF student discipline policy and protocols.
- Assist with the transitions in program leadership, expansion, etc.
- Assist with other REEF operation efforts as needed (camps, presentations, meetings).
Assist with other school operation efforts as requested.

- Contribute to a variety of projects and tasks associated with the general operation of a public charter school and its extracurricular programs, as may be requested from time to time by appropriate personnel.
Required Qualifications
- A combination of college coursework and/or applicable experience.
- Positive attitude, warm and friendly personality, and a proven ability to relate well to children and staff.
- Appreciation, experience, and understanding of Chinese culture.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Experience and knowledge with before-and-aftercare program administration.
- Fluency in Mandarin Chinese.
