About the Team:

Do you have a passion for identifying tedious manual processes and designing a way to automate them? Do you enjoy tinkering with the latest tools and frameworks to learn how they can be used to improve existing systems?

We are seeking an intern to join one of our CI/CD and infrastructure teams, which provides the tools, processes that enable development teams within our Foundational Systems and Experiences Engineering (FSEE) organization to do their job: building incredible experiences for millions of PlayStation players!

Our team is responsible for the CI/CD infrastructure and pipelines across all of our frontend development teams on all platforms, on-console (PlayStation 4/5) and off-console (Web, Mobile, PC). We have a variety of roles available on our team, with the opportunity to work in different verticals at the intersection of platform technologies and cloud infrastructure.

  • Work across PlayStation teams to balance priorities and deliver practical and reliable tools, processes, and systems.

  • Build and maintain modern tools, libraries, applications, and infrastructure that support CI/CD pipelines for PlayStation®4, PlayStation®5, web, mobile, and PC platforms.

  • Write clear, maintainable, and functional code to power internal developer workflows.

  • Use qualitative and quantitative metrics to prioritize work and measure effectiveness.

  • Enhance infrastructure reliability and overall engineering productivity.

  • Changing how PlayStation engineers write, share, review, and merge code through education, automated tooling, new infrastructure, and new processes

  • Building systems to ensure PlayStation developers’ builds are always green, and reacting quickly if something goes wrong

  • Constructing better tooling and metrics so that we, and other developers we work with, understand the health of our systems

  • Performance engineering to make our builds as fast and reliable as possible

Company Perks:

  • Above-average pay based on your current work term, verified by the latest co-op earnings report on the UWaterloo website. Feel free to ask about compensation in the interview!

  • PlayStation game vouchers for select PS4/PS5 games that are released during the co-op term

  • PlayStation store credit every month

  • Access to our employee store with discounts on select Sony/PlayStation products

  • Paid lunch for team/company special events (typically 1 event per month)

  • Special intern events organized by our Early Career Talent team

  • Free lunch and snacks if you’re working from the office

  • Hackathons

  • Career/personal development resources

A few other things you should know:
