The role

We’re looking for a Tech Lead to head our Console Team, which owns and evolves our internal frontend platform. This role is critical in shaping the UI development experience across the company by delivering a robust managed framework, scalable micro frontend infrastructure, and shared libraries. You’ll guide architectural decisions, foster cross-team alignment, and lead efforts that improve frontend consistency, performance, and developer productivity.

Key responsibilities:

  • Own and evolve the Internal web application, including core tools and user workflows.
  • Develop and maintain the platform, enabling scalable micro frontend integration across teams.
  • Build and support shared UI libraries, patterns, and tooling to ensure consistency and improve developer experience.
  • Partner with other platform and product teams  to onboard and support feature integration into Console.

About you

In order to set you up for success as a Tech Lead for Console at Wayve, we’re looking for the following skills and experience.

Essential

  • Good development skills and knowledge in TypeScript
  • Experience with React (or similar front-end frameworks)
  • Previous experience building fullstack applications (backend + frontend)
  • Experience leading frontend platforms or design systems.
  • Strong product sense for building user workflows (e.g., experiments, routes).
  • Ability to drive frontend architecture and coding standards.

Desirable

  • Familiarity with micro frontend patterns and module federation.
  • Experience building internal developer tools or extensible UIs.
  • Understanding of frontend performance optimization.
  • Knowledge of UX consistency, accessibility, and design systems.

This is a full-time role based in our office in Sunnyvale.  At Wayve we want the best of all worlds so we operate a hybrid working policy that combines time together in our offices and workshops to fuel innovation, culture, relationships and learning, and time spent working from home.   We operate core working hours so you can determine the schedule that works best for you and your team.

We understand that everyone has a unique set of skills and experiences and that not everyone will meet all of the requirements listed above. If you’re passionate about self-driving cars and think you have what it takes to make a positive impact on the world, we encourage you to apply.
