The Role

We are looking for a Talent Partner to join our growing hub in Japan. In this role, you will help identify, attract, and hire exceptional technical talent to support Wayve’s rapid global growth. You will work closely with hiring managers and leaders to understand business needs and design effective, inclusive hiring strategies.

This position specifically supports our Product & Strategy organisation, which plays a key role in connecting Wayve’s autonomous driving technology with customer and business needs. You will help build collaborative, high-performing teams that contribute to our innovation and long-term success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Full-Cycle Recruitment: Manage the entire recruitment process — from sourcing and screening to interviews and offers — ensuring fairness and diversity in every step.
  • Candidate Experience: Provide clear, timely communication and a smooth interview process for all candidates.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner closely with hiring managers to understand requirements and design effective attraction and selection strategies.
  • Market Insights: Stay informed about industry and talent trends, including in Japan, to support recruitment planning and decision-making.
  • Employer Branding: Help promote Wayve as an employer of choice through recruitment activities and positive candidate engagement.
  • Data-Driven Approach: Use analytics and tracking tools to measure progress and continuously improve our hiring process.

About You

We’re looking for someone who thrives in an international, fast-growing environment and enjoys working collaboratively to build great teams.

Essential:

  • Experience: Background in technical recruitment, ideally within a tech or start-up environment.
  • Technical Understanding: Comfortable hiring for complex engineering roles, with the ability to discuss technical skills and qualifications confidently.
  • Collaboration: Strong communication skills and the ability to build trusted relationships with stakeholders and candidates across different cultures.
  • Organisation: Excellent attention to detail and time management, with the ability to manage multiple roles and priorities.
  • Adaptability: Eager to learn, open to feedback, and able to adjust in a dynamic environment.
  • Tools: Familiar with applicant tracking systems and recruitment analytics platforms.

This is a full-time role based in our office in Yokohama.  At Wayve we want the best of all worlds so we operate a hybrid working policy that combines time together in our offices and workshops to fuel innovation, culture, relationships and learning, and time spent working from home.

We understand that everyone has a unique set of skills and experiences and that not everyone will meet all of the requirements listed above. If you’re passionate about self-driving cars and think you have what it takes to make a positive impact on the world, we encourage you to apply.
