Project Manager
Title: Project Manager
Company: webAI, Inc.
Location: Austin, TX
Type: Salaried Exempt
Experience: 3+ years
Education: Bachelor’s Degree, minimum
About Us:
We are establishing the first distributed Al infrastructure dedicated to personalized Al. The evolving needs of a data-driven society are demanding scalability and flexibility. We believe that the future of Al is distributed and enables real-time data processing at the edge, closer to where data is generated. We are building a future where a company's data and IP remains private and it's possible to bring large models directly to consumer hardware without removing information from the model.
Job Summary:
We are looking for a Project Manager who thrives in a fast-paced, evolving environment. This role requires someone who is adaptable, pragmatic, and deeply familiar with multiple project management methodologies—including Kanban, Scrum, Agile, and Scrumban—without being dogmatic about any single approach. You’ll work closely with Product and Engineering teams to ensure epics, stories, and tasks are effectively structured, tracked, and executed.
We need someone who can navigate and improve our current processes while keeping things moving—understanding that we can’t pause to build a perfect system from scratch. If you’re someone who can work within existing frameworks while iterating toward something better, we want to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to structure and refine epics, tickets, stories, and tasks.
- Lead sprint planning, backlog grooming, and retrospectives to ensure continuous improvement.
- Use tools like JIRA, Notion, GitLab, and GitHub to manage project workflows.
- Adapt and apply different project management methodologies based on the team’s needs, rather than forcing a single rigid approach.
- Work with fast-changing processes and help incrementally build better ones while ensuring progress isn’t halted.
- Act as a translator and broker between Product and Engineering to align priorities and expectations.
- Drive execution, ensuring that projects meet deadlines and teams remain unblocked.
What We’re Looking For:
- 3+ years of experience in project management, ideally in a software development environment.
- Deep familiarity with JIRA, Notion, GitLab, GitHub, and other project management and collaboration tools.
- Experience working closely with both Product and Engineering teams.
- Strong communication skills—able to navigate technical and non-technical discussions.
- Highly adaptable and comfortable working with evolving processes and priorities.
- Ability to work with imperfect systems and incrementally improve them over time rather than striving for immediate perfection.
Nice to Have:
- Experience scaling project management processes within a growing team or startup environment.
- Familiarity with CI/CD workflows and software development lifecycles.
- Experience working in high-growth or early-stage companies where flexibility is key.
