Senior Copywriter, Creative (Contract Basis)

CA Remote (BC & ON only); U.S. Remote

We’re looking for a fixed term (contract-based) Sr. Copywriter to provide services to our growing copy function within the Creative team. This engagement will be coordinated by the Copy Lead and will be responsible for writing engaging, thoughtful copy for a wide range of projects, from our annual conference to product launch scripts.

As a Sr. Copywriter, you’ll:

  • Write and edit copy across multiple formats including web, performance marketing, video (including scripts), sales enablement materials, and more
  • Concept and execute creative work using your professional expertise, with deliverables subject to review and approval by the Copy Lead to ensure alignment with project requirements.
  • Be a trusted creative consultant to our growth, education and community, and product marketing teams
  • Collaborate with the video production team to craft compelling scripts and storyboards
  • Apply the Webflow brand voice standards along with the rest of the copy team
  • Suggest improvements to optimize team processes as our responsibilities expand
  • Analyze the impact of your deliverables and suggest changes based on a combination of data and feedback

About you

You’re an excellent fit for this contract engagement if you:

  • Have 4-5 years of copywriting experience, whether in an agency, as a self-employed consultant, or in an in-house setting — B2B tech experience preferred
  • Can self-edit and confidently turn around polished copy quickly, across a wide range of channels and formats
  • Have a deep understanding of conversion-driven copy and are able to write actionable ads that drive business results
  • Have worked closely with video teams in the past and understand the unique challenges of scriptwriting
  • Can articulate the thinking behind creative decisions and effectively present your work during review sessions with project stakeholders
  • Can comfortably engage and consult with a wide range of collaborators across design and marketing, including C-suite leadership
  • Are comfortable with ambiguity and can proactively suggest consultative solutions
  • Operate effectively as an independent professional providing services to a small team

This is an independent contractor engagement, not an employment position. As an independent contractor, you will:

  • Maintain control over your work schedule and location with availability for scheduled meetings, presentations, and collaborative sessions during core business hours (Monday-Friday) & be responsive to time-sensitive project communications during business hours
  • Provide your own equipment and tools
  • Be responsible for your own taxes and benefits
  • Not be eligible for company employee benefits
  • Engage for a fixed term of 4-5 months
