We. provides a breadth of communications services to clients across sectors including consumer health and wellness, health IT, medical devices, pharmaceuticals and life sciences. We develop innovative programs that reach and influence physicians, advocates, patients, regulators, policy makers, payors and the consumers at the center of it all.

This Account Executive, Health position is a hybrid in-office role (3x per week), based out of the We. Communication’s New York City office. 

Responsibilities 

Account Management & Strategic Thinking

  • Conduct news monitoring and draft client-facing article summaries and recommendations
  • Develop and maintain program and project action plans/timelines
  • Identify opportunities for integration with media, digital and creative teams

Media and Influencer Engagement

  • Develop targeted media lists and pitch angles
  • Contribute to media efforts, including pitching or research requests
  • Support influencer programs, including influencer audits, contracting and content development
  • Contribute to brainstorms & strategic campaign development
  • Provide timely and in-depth analysis of coverage results & trends

Digital & Social Media Acumen

  • Assist in creating high-level digital/social media strategies that are integrated into communication plans
  • Engage with agency digital & monitoring divisions regarding client projects & deliverables
  • Draft content for amplifying news on client or executive social properties
  • Develop and maintain social editorial calendars

Client Engagement

  • Begin anticipating client communication challenges & develop recommendations
  • Contribute to development & implementation of communication strategies
  • Execute tasks associated with projects; may lead certain aspects of project
  • Oversee client meeting agendas & recaps; own a speaking role on calls
  • Begin to understand clients’ business model from a global perspective; understand key markets, global influencers and the impact on the client/business narrative

New Business Development

  • Become familiar with We. capabilities across the agency including global regional specialties in comparison to competitor agencies
  • Serve in a lead research role on organic growth new business efforts including sourcing and gathering audience, industry or competitor market data
  • Understand & identify potential opportunities to grow & diversify existing account
  • Begin to develop and nurture network of peer contacts outside the agency

People Leadership

  • Begin gaining management skills by mentoring junior level staff
  • Be a peer resource to staff, interns & new hires
  • Manage up to senior staff

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, English or related field 
  • 2-3 years of experience in PR, preferably in an agency setting and/or within the healthcare industry
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (particularly Outlook, Word, SharePoint, PowerPoint and Excel)
  • Strong writing, editing, presentation and research skills.
  • Ability to drive client relationships, provide strategic and tactical advice, provide thoughtful analysis on news coverage, identify proactive opportunities, craft materials including press releases, pitches and social media content, and reference/source material content is highly desirable
  • Proven media relations experience
  • Creative, team player that can work in a fast-paced environment
  • An interest in developing integrated communications skills incorporating digital and social media

Compensation

The base annual salary range for this role, applicable across all U.S. locations, is outlined below. The actual salary may vary based on several factors such as business requirements, job responsibilities, skills, experience, and geographical location.

Salary Range

$62,000 - $71,000 USD
