Inbound/Internal Transfers Warehouse Operations Manager

About the role

The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing warehouse operations in our Clifton, NJ location. The Inbound/Internal Transfers Operations Manager will ensure the Clifton facility's inbound and internal transfer processes operate safely, efficiently, and accurately. This role will prioritize workplace safety, oversee inbound freight scheduling, receiving, put away accuracy, internal stock movements, and dock-to-stock cycle times to maintain high service standards and inventory readiness for downstream operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Safety, dock-to-stock Efficiency, inbound inventory accuracy, internal transfer accuracy & timeliness, and people management.
  • Lead Inbound & Internal Transfers – Serve as the senior leader for all inbound functions (unloading, inspection, put away) and own internal stock transfers between zones/buildings/sister facilities, including scheduling and documentation to keep materials flowing.
  • People Leadership & Development – Mentor and coach inbound team leaders and supervisors; set clear expectations, create development plans, provide ongoing feedback, and build a high-performance, accountable culture.
  • Inbound Labor Planning & Productivity – Optimize staffing for inbound peaks and container/truck schedules using forecasts and internal tools; deploy labor to demand, meet productivity KPIs, and address performance gaps quickly.
  • Operational Excellence & Inventory Accuracy (Dock-to-Stock) – Eliminate receiving-dock bottlenecks by enforcing SOPs and standardized workflows; improve receiving checks, run root-cause analysis on discrepancies, take corrective actions, and process goods within target timelines.
  • Safety & Compliance – Prioritize a safe inbound work environment through proactive dock safety monitoring, safety training, and adherence to all compliance requirements to minimize incidents and liability.
  • Cross-Functional Alignment, DC Capacity & Cost Control – Partner with procurement, transportation, replenishment, and outbound to align inbound scheduling and transfers; collaborate on space utilization and peak planning; reduce waste and costs in labor, detention/demurrage, and space usage.
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Work in an environment where the noise level varies and can be loud
  • Work in an environment where the temperature can be low.(refrigerator temperature at or below 40° F (4° C). The freezer temperature should be 0° F (-18° C)
  • Able to stand/walk for up to 12 hours during shifts

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience)
  • 10+ years in warehouse or manufacturing operations
  • 5+ years in a supervisory or management role
  • Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)
  • Proficient computer skills (Excel, reporting tools)
  • Knowledge of health & safety regulations (OSHA)
  • Experience managing high-volume or fast-paced distribution environments
  • Proven track record of leading large teams (50+ associates)
  • Strong understanding of inventory control and cycle counting processes
  • Demonstrated success in reducing labor costs or improving productivity metrics
  • Familiarity with labor planning, scheduling, and workforce optimization

Compensation Range

  • The US base salary range for this full-time position is $92,000 - $108,000
  • This role may be eligible to discretionary bonus, incentives and benefits
  • Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location
