Sales Strategy & Planning Manager
Position Description
The Sales Strategy & Planning Manager serves as the category and analytics expert, translating POS, syndicated, and retailer data into actionable insights that drive sales performance and growth. This role owns gross sales forecasting and revenue planning, partnering closely with Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, and Finance to ensure accurate forecasts, strong S&OP execution, and proactive risk and opportunity management. The SSP Manager acts as the primary cross-functional liaison for innovation forecasting, product transitions, pricing, and tactical sales planning needs. Working closely with leadership, this role helps shape go-to-market strategy, product launches, and long-term growth for a purpose-driven personal care brand.
This is a remote position based in the United States. Occasional travel is expected, inclusive of our North America Headquarters in Irvington, NY (located 20 miles north of New York City) for meetings, team planning sessions, and company events as well as traveling for other events.

Key Responsibilities
Category & Business Analytics Expert
- Serve as the category expert by analyzing POS, panel, and syndicated data (e.g., Nielsen, Stackline, SPINS, and retailer portals) to identify trends, performance drivers, whitespace opportunities, and risks across channels and customers. Translate complex data into clear, actionable insights that inform sales strategy, customer planning, assortment decisions, and executive decision-making.
Sales Forecasting & Revenue Management
- Own gross sales forecasting and revenue planning across channels, customers, and product lines, including weekly and monthly in-month tracking against plan. Ensure forecast accuracy through disciplined assumptions, scenario modeling, and close alignment with Sales, Supply Chain, and Finance to support inventory planning, financial targets, and operational execution.
S&OP & Cross-Functional Planning
- Support and enhance the S&OP process by tracking performance versus plan, identifying gaps, and proactively communicating risks and opportunities. Partner closely with Supply Chain and Finance to align demand plans, inventory requirements, and financial outlooks, recommending course corrections to support business objectives.
Innovation & Portfolio Planning
- Act as the primary liaison between Sales, Marketing, and Supply Chain for innovation forecasting, new product launches, line extensions, and product transitions. Ensure forecasts align with launch timing, retailer strategies, capacity constraints, and financial expectations, while monitoring post-launch performance and adjusting plans as needed.
Go-to-Market & Customer Strategy Support
- Collaborate with Sales and Marketing to support customer strategies, including pricing architecture, promotions, trade spend planning, and ROI analysis. Provide analytical support for customer line reviews, promotional evaluations, and distribution expansion opportunities to drive profitable growth.
Product & Pricing Management
- Support price list management, including updates, timing, and cross-functional communication. Analyze pricing actions, margin impact, and promotional effectiveness to optimize revenue, profitability, and customer performance.
Reporting & Performance Communication
- Develop and maintain standardized dashboards, reports, and executive-ready presentations using Excel, PowerPoint, and BI tools (e.g., Power BI). Clearly communicate performance, forecasts, and insights to leadership and cross-functional partners to enable informed decision-making.
Process Improvement & Systems Utilization
- Leverage ERP and sales planning systems (e.g., SAP, NetSuite) to improve data accuracy, reporting efficiency, and planning workflows. Identify and implement opportunities to enhance forecasting rigor, reporting cadence, and cross-functional planning processes as the business scales.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Marketing, or a related field required; MBA or advanced degree preferred, particularly with an analytical or strategy focus.
- 5–7 years of experience in sales strategy, trade marketing, forecasting, S&OP, or revenue planning, preferably within CPG, natural beauty, wellness, or other retail-driven industries.
- Strong analytical and financial modeling skills with advanced Excel expertise and proficiency in BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms.
- Proven experience in sales forecasting and demand planning, with the ability to build, refine, and manage rolling forecasts by channel, customer, and product line.
- Solid understanding of trade spend analysis, promotion performance, ROI measurement, and pricing architecture.
- Experience working with ERP or sales planning systems (e.g., SAP, NetSuite, or comparable platforms) to support data integrity, forecasting, and reporting workflows.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and execute customer strategies, including pricing and promotional planning.
- Strong financial acumen with the ability to read and interpret P&L statements.
- Mastery of syndicated data sources and tools (Nielsen, Stackline, retailer portals), along with advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills; Power BI experience is a plus.

The anticipated base salary range for this position is $130,000. Exact salary depends on several factors such as experience, skills, education, and budget. Salary range may vary based on geographic location. In addition, Weleda offers a variety of benefits to eligible team members, including health insurance coverage, 401k, paid leave programs, 20 vacation days, paid holidays, generous employee discounts and others. Many of these benefits are subsidized or fully paid for by the company.
