Position: Associate UX Researcher
Reporting to: Senior Director, UX Design & Research
Location: Chapel Hill, NC; Boston, MA (Newton Office)
Compensation: $70,000 - $80,000 depending on qualifications, plus bonus potential and benefits
Position Summary:
Our UX Team works hard to understand our users. We are dedicated to identifying and solving the right problems—while connecting people with the guidance, experiences, and motivation they need to improve their health and wellness.
As part of the product design team at Well, you’ll have the opportunity to refine, improve, and expand upon the mobile app experience we deliver to members every day. We are looking for a thoughtful and dedicated UX Researcher who can help our UX/UI Designer and Product Managers to observe and learn from users. In this role, you’ll be asked to plan, coordinate and facilitate testing —while also delivering insights and actionable feedback to your collaborators.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and execute a variety of research methods including usability tests, user interviews, concept testing, and surveys.
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners to define research questions and prioritize study goals.
- Analyze and synthesize data into compelling insights, recommendations, and narratives.
- Share findings in formats that are actionable, engaging, and aligned with product timelines.
- Contribute to and maintain user archetypes, journey maps, and insight repositories.
- Advocate for the user throughout the product development lifecycle.
- Support team workshops, ideation sessions, and collaborative research activities.
- Maintain our research processes and tooling.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree with relevant research focus, such as User Experience, Human-centered design, or Human Factors in information systems
- Ideal candidates will have at least 1-3 years experience
- Experience working with both responsive web and mobile applications
- Passionate about healthcare and personal health
- Portfolio of relevant examples and/or demonstrable research skills
- Excellent oral, written, interpersonal communication skills
- Works with an owner's mentality
