Ad Hoc Carer Needed – Trinity College Dublin - (On-Campus Student Support)

We are seeking a reliable, flexible carer to provide occasional support for a 25-year-old Master’s student from the USA, currently living on campus at Trinity College Dublin. She has an autoimmune condition which, during flare-ups, can cause significant fatigue and require the use of a wheelchair. As her family are based in the USA, they would like to have trusted support in place while she is studying in Ireland.

Role Overview This role is focused on practical support – no personal care is required. Typical tasks may include:

• Collecting medication
• Running errands
• Accompanying and supporting at medical appointments
• Providing general support during flare-ups

Hours & Pay

• Ad hoc, as needed – flexibility required.
• €50 weekly retainer, which covers up to 2 hours of support per week.
• Additional hours beyond this will be paid at €20 per hour.
• Flexibility to assist during flare-ups is especially important, as support needs may increase at short notice.

We understand flexibility is needed on both sides, so hours and arrangements can be discussed and negotiated.

Requirements

• Reliable and punctual
• Able to provide support at short notice
• Friendly, supportive, and respectful of independence
• Experience supporting young adults with health conditions is desirable but not essential
• May also appeal to a fellow student with a flexible timetable
• Preferred (but not essential): Car driver with access to a vehicle and business insurance
