Part-Time Private Hire Caregiver (Dementia/Memory Care Experience Required) – San Antonio, TX 78256

A family in San Antonio, TX is seeking a reliable, compassionate caregiver for their father, who has memory care needs related to dementia. The family is specifically seeking consistent, non-agency support to ensure continuity of care due to his condition. They are open to starting with short, intermittent shifts and gradually increasing hours as trust and comfort are established.

Schedule:

• Initial schedule: Tuesdays, 12:00 PM – 3:00 PM
• Part-time, intermittent care with opportunity to expand hours over time
• Flexible growth based on family and caregiver fit

Family Specifications:

• Smoke-free home with friendly dogs and cats
• Strong preference for consistency and long-term caregiver relationship
• Family caregiver (mother) is primary support and needs respite time away from the home

Responsibilities:

• Provide attentive supervision and companionship for an older adult with memory impairment
• Ensure safety and fall prevention while caregiver is away
• Provide medication reminders and basic routine support as needed
• Engage in calm, supportive interaction to reduce confusion and anxiety
• Maintain a safe and structured environment during care visits

Requirements:

• Experience supporting individuals with dementia or Alzheimer’s disease
• Reliable transportation
• Comfortable working in a home with pets
• Ability to respond calmly to memory-related behaviors and ensure safety at all times

Compensation:

• $18–$21 per hour (based on experience)
