Special Needs Caregiver – North Brunswick Township, NJ

A family in North Brunswick Township, NJ 08902 is seeking an experienced, compassionate, and dependable caregiver for their 16-year-old son with Autism. The ideal candidate will be patient, engaging, and experienced supporting individuals with special needs while promoting independence and participation in daily activities.

Schedule:

• Summer hours primarily 2:30 PM–5:30/8:30 PM, 3–4 days per week
• Occasional daytime and weekend shifts (10:30 AM–4:30/8:30 PM)
• Additional opportunities for overnight care and family travel support

Family Specifications:

• Smoke-free home
• Pet-free home

Responsibilities:

• Provide after-school support and supervision
• Assist with personal care and activities of daily living
• Prepare snacks and meals as needed
• Provide medication reminders
• Light housekeeping and laundry related to the client's care
• Collaborate with in-home therapists
• Engage in walks, outdoor activities, and community outings
• Promote a safe, structured, and supportive environment

Requirements:

• Previous caregiving experience required
• Previous experience caring for individuals with Autism required
• Reliable transportation and ability to commute consistently
• Compassionate, patient, and dependable
• First Aid/CPR certification preferred but not required

Compensation:

• $20-$25 per hour (commensurate with experience)
