Part Time Senior Companion (Tech-Savvy Caregiver) – Santa Monica, CA

A Senior (63yo) in Santa Monica, CA living with Multiple Sclerosis and Epilepsy is seeking a reliable, tech-savvy companion for part-time assistance and social engagement.

Schedule:

• Approximately 17.5 hours per week total
• Typically 3 days per week, 5–6 hours per day
• Flexible schedule, with a preference for mornings (care usually wraps up before 6:00 PM–7:00 PM; weekends are acceptable) 

Family Specifications:

• Pet-free, non-smoking home environment
• Non-medical care focus; care recipient independently manages medication and personal hygiene (including daily self-catheterization)
• Values a proactive caregiver who can engage with her interests in technology, current events, streaming entertainment, and personal projects

Responsibilities:

• Provide companionship, social engagement, and support for personal hobbies and projects
• Assist with tech support, including computers, mobile devices, streaming TV setup, Bluetooth connections, and online Amazon ordering
• Provide administrative and scheduling support
• Provide gentle, light mobility assistance (e.g., helping stand up from a chair) and assist with light exercise
• Prepare meals and healthy options (e.g., roasted vegetables, energy balls, and light snacks)
• Perform light housekeeping, including dishwashing, sanitizing surfaces, and organizing living spaces
• Drive and transport the care recipient to and from errands, doctor appointments, and social outings

 

Requirements:

• 1+ years of senior caregiving experience
• Must have reliable transportation, a valid driver's license, and an insured vehicle for client transportation
• Registered as an IHSS Provider in Los Angeles County, or willing to register upon hire
• Tech-savvy and comfortable troubleshooting consumer technology and home electronics
• Proactive, organized, and attentive around the home

Compensation:

• $19-$20 per hour (aligned with LA County IHSS wage rates)
