Part Time Senior Companion – Brookline, MA

 

A thoughtful family in Brookline, MA, is seeking a dependable and organized caregiver to provide weekly companionship, household support, and meal preparation for a fully functional 70-year-old adult. The care recipient lives in a location accessible by public transit, and all errands are within walking distance. The target start date for this position is December 1.

 

Schedule:

• Wednesdays, approximately 1:00 PM – 6:00 PM
• Approximately 5 hours per week

• Smoke-free home
• Pet-free household
• Walking distance to local amenities and public transportation
• Values an organized, detail-oriented caregiver who can help structure tasks through to completion

Responsibilities:

• Plan, shop for, and prepare 1–2 nutritious meals per week that yield leftovers (from grocery shopping to final storage and full kitchen cleanup)
• Perform grocery shopping on foot (either independently or together with the care recipient)
• Assist with kitchen organization, including cleaning out the refrigerator
• Complete laundry tasks
• Provide warm, engaging companionship

 

Requirements:

• Proven experience in senior companionship, meal preparation, or home support
• Strong cooking and kitchen management skills
• Ability to comfortably walk to nearby stores for grocery errands
• Fluent in English

 

Compensation:

• $25-$30 per hour
