
Nonprofit Accounting Coordinator
WestCoast Children’s Clinic, located in Oakland, California, is a non-profit community psychology clinic that provides mental health services to Bay Area children, youth and families. We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounting Coordinator to join our finance team and help support our mission-driven organization. This role is responsible for managing a variety of day-to-day accounting activities using Sage MIP, including revenue processing, expense tracking, and financial data entry. The ideal candidate has an eye for detail, and a desire to support impactful work in the nonprofit sector.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare, review, and post revenue invoices in a timely and accurate manner.
- Process accounts payable and allocate expenses to appropriate cost centers.
- Prepare and record journal entries, including those related to corporate credit card expenses (Wells One system).
- Reconcile monthly credit card activity and provide support to cardholders.
- Assist in the preparation and coordination of the annual audit.
- Support donation processing and ensure accurate revenue tracking.
- Enter data monthly into SmartCare for Medi-Cal billing and OHC claims.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 6 months to 1 year of accounting experience, preferably in a nonprofit organization.
Competencies and Skills:
- Hands-on experience with accounting software; Sage MIP experience strongly preferred.
- Proficiency in Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets) and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word).
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, including general ledger, accounts payable, and receivable.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to manage time effectively, work independently, and meet deadlines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Position Details and Compensation:
This is a full-time, exempt position, reporting to the Assistant Accounting Manager. Operates in a hybrid office environment. Salary range is $55,000-$65,000, and includes benefits, 403b, and performance-based compensation plans.
