We are seeking a relationship-driven Veterinary Support Staff Recruiter to attract and hire talented professionals across an assigned region. This role manages recruitment for hospital support positions. Partnering closely with Hospital Managers and Operations, you will guide hiring teams, build candidate pipelines, and create a welcoming experience from the first conversation through onboarding. This position offers remote work with travel for career fairs, conferences, and hospital visits.
Candidates local to the Illinois market are highly preferred. Must have experience in Veterinary recruiting.
Key Responsibilities
Recruitment and Sourcing
- Manage full-cycle recruitment for hospital support staff across your assigned region, from sourcing and screening through offer coordination and onboarding.
- Proactively identify and engage Credentialed Veterinary Technicians, Veterinary Assistants, and other support staff through job boards, social media, professional networks, and referrals.
- Write, edit, and maintain compelling job postings on Indeed and other recruiting platforms.
- Maintain regular communication with candidates and hospital leadership to keep hiring processes moving and deliver a positive candidate experience.
- Represent WVP at career fairs, conferences, and hospital visits.
Hospital Partnerships and Hiring Support
- Serve as a trusted recruiting partner to Hospital Managers and Operations.
- Advise hiring managers and interview teams on candidate evaluation, interview practices, and recruiting strategies.
- Coordinate support staff offers and onboarding, including drafting offer letters, facilitating new hire paperwork, and serving as a point of contact.
- Support employee engagement activities, including welcoming new team members, tracking promotions and employee referrals.
Recruiting Operations and Continuous Improvement
- Maintain accurate, timely candidate records and recruiting activity in the applicant tracking system (ATS). Greenhouse preferred.
- Identify trends and opportunities to improve recruiting workflows and the onboarding experience.
- Support recruiting team projects and other activities as business needs evolve.
Qualifications
- Prior recruiting experience required.
- Credentialed Veterinary Technician with leadership experience preferred; other relevant veterinary industry experience will be considered.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple searches and competing priorities.
- Excellent relationship-building skills and confidence engaging candidates and hospital leaders through frequent phone and video conversations.
- Strong computer skills and familiarity with social media, job boards, and recruiting platforms.
- Excellent written communication, editing, and proofreading skills.
- A collaborative approach, adaptability, and a proactive attitude toward solving problems.
- Ability to work effectively in a remote environment and travel for recruiting events and hospital visits.

This is a good-faith estimate based on the role's requirements at the time of posting. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. This position is also eligible for bonus and incentive compensation, the terms of which will be provided at the time of offer. The Company offers a comprehensive benefits package that may include medical, dental, and vision benefits, vacation, sick leave, 401(k), and other benefits depending on role and location. Illinois Pay Range
$75,000 - $80,000 USD
