Veterinary Technician
Allegheny Veterinary Associates is seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our team and help create exceptional experiences for clients and patients during exams and outpatient visits.
This is an excellent opportunity for an outgoing, skilled assistant who thrives in client engagement, exam room management, and multitasking in a busy clinical environment. In this position, you will play a critical role in supporting efficient hospital operations, creating positive client experiences, and ensuring patients receive compassionate, high-quality care.
Responsibilities include:
- Supporting efficient exam room and outpatient workflow to ensure exceptional patient and client care
- Maintaining accurate, thorough medical records and treatment documentation
- Reviewing treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions with clients clearly and compassionately
- Supporting veterinarians during outpatient procedures and treatments while advocating for high-quality patient care
- Supporting veterinarians and technicians during surgical prep and recovery
- Building positive relationships with clients through education, communication, and attentive service
Schedule and compensation:
- Compensation: $20.00 – $22.00 per hour, for each hour worked
- Schedule: This is a full-time position, with a 5 x 8 schedule, Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–5:00 PM, with one built-in half day per week. No weekends and no on-call requirements.

Minimum qualifications and skill set:
- 1+ years of veterinary technician or veterinary assistant experience
- Proficiency in the following skills:
- Patient assessment, nursing care, and monitoring
- Venipuncture and IV catheter placement
- Radiology positioning and safety protocols
- Medication administration and accurate drug calculations
- Laboratory sample collection and in-house diagnostic testing
- Accurate medical record documentation
- Client education and communication
- Ability to prioritize tasks and multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Effective teamwork and professional communication skills
