About the role:

We are seeking a mid-level Business Affairs Contracts Manager to support our US-based Whalar agency team. You will lead the drafting, negotiation, and execution of complex creator and talent agreements.  You will collaborate closely with the Sr. Director, Business Affairs and two Contracts Managers on the team.

Here’s what you’ll do day-to-day:

  • Independently draft, review, redline, and negotiate complex creator and talent agreements.
  • Lead contract negotiations with creators, talent agents, managers, and external legal counsel, balancing business needs with contractual requirements.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to review contract terms, address potential risks, and provide practical guidance throughout the negotiation process.
  • Manage multiple contract requests simultaneously, prioritizing deadlines to keep campaigns and projects moving forward.
  • Maintain accurate contract workflows, documentation, and task tracking across Asana, shared inboxes, and other internal systems.
  • Serve as a reliable resource for contract-related questions, providing timely, clear, and solutions-oriented guidance to internal teams.
  • Collaborate with the broader Business Affairs team to identify opportunities to improve processes, streamline negotiations, and increase efficiency.

Here’s what we’re looking for:

  • 3+ years of relevant contract management experience within the creator economy, entertainment, digital media, or advertising agency environment. A J.D. is preferred but not required with substantial relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated experience drafting and negotiating creator and talent agreements, with the confidence to manage complex negotiations independently.
  • Strong understanding of advertising laws, FTC endorsement guidelines, and applicable SAG-AFTRA requirements or digital media talent standards.
  • Genuine interest in social media, creator culture, and the evolving creator economy.
  • Exceptional organizational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced, creative environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and sound judgment, with the ability to identify contractual risks and communicate solutions clearly.
  • A proactive, self-motivated approach, with the confidence to take ownership of work and operate with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders and external partners.
  • A collaborative, solutions-first mindset and willingness to jump in, support teammates, and find answers when challenges arise.
  • Flexibility to occasionally work outside standard business hours to accommodate time-sensitive negotiations and campaign deadlines.

The hourly pay for this role is $40.00.
