About the role:

This role will be responsible pursues the unification and automation of processes and encourages collaboration between teams to deliver higher quality software in less time and in maintaining the applications, as well as in favoring a more cooperative environment and give support. This is a unique opportunity to help introducing processes, tools, and ways of working throughout the entire Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), from coding and deployment to application operations and maintenance, giving technical support to the rest of areas.

This role is tied to our Tallinn Office but can be remote and sit anywhere in Estonia. We are also open to candidates who are EU citizens and want to relocate to Estonia.

Here’s what you’ll do day-to-day:

  • Working with the team on the management of our cloud deployments
  • Working with the team in monitoring of our systems and deployments, bringing automation and alert management into the picture.
  • Collaborate in CI/CD pipelines with other DevOps, Develop  and QA teams 
  • Support our teams:
    • Analyze cluster performance (metrics, Databases, etc…)
    • Dashboard deployments
    • Miscellaneous automations
    • Training and knowledge transfer to Operations team

Here’s what we’re looking for:

  • A minimum of 5+ years of proven experience as a DevOps Engineer with hands-on in infrastructure automation and CI/CD pipelines. Experience collaborating closely with development and testing teams to improve product development and build processes.
  • Experience in Linux OS Administration
  • Experience with Bash scripting language
  • Understanding of Continuous Integration and Delivery
  • Advanced experience with container technologies like Docker
  • Experience with cloud providers (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure)
  • Experience with monitoring tools and alerts (Prometheus, Grafana, alertmanager, etc…) 
  • Experience with container orchestration technologies like Kubernetes and Infrastructure as Code (CloudFormation, Terraform).
  • Experience with backups and restore lifecycles
  • Good understanding of security best practices (VPN, security groups, WAF, etc …)
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Quick learner, self-motivated, self-disciplined and result-oriented
  • Good communicator, good documentation skills, team player.

Nice to have:

  • Knowledge of best practices for the full SW development lifecycle, including agile, coding standards, source control management, build processes, testing, release management and operations
  • Configuration Management (Ansible/Puppet)
  • Package management (Helm)
  • Awareness of security certification procedures
  • Knowledge of code in Golang and/or Python
  • Application Monitoring with Datadog
