About the role:

The Client Business Lead is responsible for the overall health of their team with a focus on managing and growing relationships with their select clients. As a key leader in the business, this individual will work closely alongside their Client Services Directors, and Strategy and Measurement leads, ensuring that client business objectives are met, with premium client service, thoughtful and innovative strategies and actionable reporting and insights. 

Key Clients include: HP, Nestle Health Science and Anthropic.

Here’s what you’ll do day-to-day:

  • Act as the most senior point of contact for assigned clients (and key Whalar leadership stakeholders), building strong, long-term relationships and acting as a trusted advisor.
  • Work closely with clients to understand their goals, challenges, and opportunities -- to grow accounts and secure new business, driving revenue growth.
  • At a high-level, oversee the execution of campaigns, ensuring high-quality deliverables that meet or exceed client expectations
  • Be a consultative, creator economy expert, guiding, recommending and developing solutions for key clients
  • Oversee the entire client team, while managing the career pathing and reviews for all direct reports 
  • Be responsible for overall team sentiment, resourcing, capacity/workload
  • Liaise with supporting departments (Business Affairs, Marketing, HR) and 3rd party partners as needed 
  • Act as escalation point for any creator negotiations or creator/agent challenges
  • Ensure we deliver actionable insights to clients for continuous improvement.
  • Responsible for margin management, and work alongside select team members for scope development
  • Accountable for all client paperwork, SOW and POs
  • Where necessary, lead pre-sale/pitches/ proposals

Here’s what we’re looking for:

  • 10+ years agency or platform experience with a focus on business development
  • Strong experience in creative advertising partnerships at a senior level, including leading contractual negotiations. Experience at an Influencer, Social, PR or Creative agency or Platform is preferred.
  • A strategic thinker who is able to see the big picture and use data effectively to drive decision making.
  • An appreciation of creativity and culture with a deep understanding of the importance of creator marketing within the broader marketing ecosystem with the ability to discuss with senior marketers.
  • Excellent communicator and active listener.  A natural storyteller who is able to build trust and rapport with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Demonstrable team management/leadership experience
  • High EQ with a Growth mind-set - we are a business growing at pace and adaptability to respond to changing market conditions and business needs is a must.

This hybrid role, based in Hudson Yards, NY, offers flexibility and collaboration, allowing you to choose any three days a week to work from our vibrant office. The salary range for this role is $180,000 - $225,000 and serves as a general guideline reflecting the potential compensation for the role. The final salary offer will be determined based on a comprehensive evaluation of factors such as the candidate's experience, expertise, alignment with the position's requirements, and, ultimately budget approvals.
