About the role:
As a Bartender at The Lighthouse Brooklyn Campus, you’ll be at the center of our hospitality experience—welcoming members, creators, and guests while delivering excellent beverage service. You’ll bring energy, enthusiasm, and expertise in beer, wine, and spirits (with cocktails added once licensing is secured). Beyond mixing drinks, you’ll support events, keep the bar running smoothly, and take responsibility for POS transactions, creating memorable moments that elevate our community.
Here’s what you’ll do day-to-day:
- Deliver exceptional hospitality, ensuring every guest feels welcomed and valued.
- Prepare and serve beer, wine, and (once licensed) spirits and cocktails with professionalism.
- Maintain strong knowledge and curiosity about beer, wine, and spirits.
- Support events and activations by assisting with bar setup, service, and breakdown.
- Perform bar back duties: stocking, rotating, dishwashing, trash removal, and pantry cleanup.
- Handle bar prep including garnishes, par levels, and organization.
- Operate the POS system accurately, including credit cards, house accounts, and member credits.
- Reconcile sales and member charges at the end of each shift.
- Support sales and upselling opportunities to enhance member experiences.
- Collaborate with Hospitality, Stewarding, and Campus teams to ensure cleanliness and service excellence.
- Uphold all health, safety, and responsible alcohol service standards.
Here’s what we’re looking for:
- Previous bartending experience preferred.
- TIPS, ATAP, or equivalent alcohol service certification (or ability to obtain within 30 days).
- Strong hospitality-first mindset and excellent people skills.
- Reliable, punctual, and a team player.
- Passion for beverage knowledge with curiosity to keep learning.
- POS experience and accountability for all transactions.
- Comfortable with physical tasks: lifting, moving cases, trash removal, dishwashing.
- Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 30 lbs.
- Flexible schedule including evenings and weekends for events.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 30 lbs.
- Frequent standing, bending, and moving in a fast-paced bar and event environment.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and event-driven schedules.
