About the role:
As the Lead Maintenance & Mover, you’ll be the hands-on leader who ensures the Brooklyn Campus stays functional, safe, and inspiring for creators and their teams. From supervising maintenance projects to supporting large-scale event logistics, you’ll guide the Maintenance & Movers Team, set the standard for reliability, and act as the point of contact for urgent facilities needs. This role combines physical work with leadership, keeping campus operations running smoothly every day.
Here’s what you’ll do day-to-day:
- Serve as key holder, handling opening, closing, and facility security.
- Supervise and delegate daily tasks for the Maintenance & Movers Team.
- Lead maintenance and repair projects, coordinating with vendors and contractors as needed.
- Support events and productions through load-ins, load-outs, and set-ups.
- Provide training on safety, equipment use, and service standards.
- Oversee room resets, equipment set-ups, and outdoor/landscaping upkeep.
- Act as the first responder to urgent maintenance or facilities issues.
- Maintain organized storage areas, tools, and equipment.
- Communicate updates, priorities, and team needs to campus leadership.
- Foster a positive, professional, and inclusive team environment.
Here’s what we’re looking for:
- Proven experience in facilities, maintenance, or operations.
- Leadership experience supervising small teams.
- Hands-on, proactive problem solver with accountability and initiative.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Comfortable with physical work, including lifting, moving, and equipment use.
- Knowledge of general building maintenance, light repairs, and vendor coordination.
- Trustworthy, reliable, and able to serve as a key holder.
- Adaptable to the dynamic nature of a creative, fast-paced campus.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 55 lbs).
- Frequent standing, bending, and walking throughout shifts.
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends for events and productions.
- Mobility across campus and outdoor areas as required.
