We are seeking a strategic visionary and results-driven Senior Digital Strategy Manager to join our Digital Strategy team!

The Digital Strategy team at Wheelhouse was founded in SEO and content strategy and is currently expanding into broader strategic support for our clients. More than simply growing organic search visibility, our team of Digital Strategists helps improve our clients’ website experience across all channels, assists our Digital Advertising team with strategic landing page support and user testing, and is embracing the next phase of the consumer journey with the adoption of AI tools and the ever-changing search landscape.

The right applicant will be forward-thinking, willing to test new ideas and platforms, including novel AI applications, and eager to be a thought leader in the digital marketing industry.

Strategic Focus

As a Senior Digital Strategy Manager at Wheelhouse DMG, you will be the driving force behind our clients' digital success, acting as a strategic partner while ensuring flawless execution of search and content initiatives. Your role will be pivotal in:

  • Leading and overseeing a portfolio of ongoing client retainers and projects
  • Developing and implementing data-driven strategic initiatives that deliver meaningful business value
  • Managing strategic initiatives for ongoing clients, speaking to constraints, blockers, and timelines
  • Identifying and pursuing opportunities to recommend new avenues of support to existing clients in a helpful and thoughtful manner
  • Mentoring colleagues through training and knowledge sharing activities
  • Coordinating communication across the practice and company relating to clients' digital strategy
  • Cultivating deep, multifaceted relationships with key stakeholders at client organizations, becoming their trusted advisor for strategic website initiatives.

Responsibilities

In this pivotal role, you will balance strategic leadership with hands-on management to ensure exceptional client outcomes:

  • Lead and oversee a portfolio of ongoing client retainers and projects, handling ad-hoc work as needed
  • Oversee SEO for a variety of clients, in partnership with others on the DS team and across the organization
  • Develop and support content strategies for Organic Search and other non-paid channels.
  • Support Digital Advertising team members with landing page strategy and testing recommendations.
  • Identify and lead user testing opportunities to improve the website experience across paid and organic channels.
  • Regularly monitor client performance, conduct audits, and participate in Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs)
  • Create a strategic narrative and articulate a story in client presentations
  • Use qualitative and quantitative data to develop and support strategic recommendations
  • Evaluate situations and determine when to push through blockers, pivot strategies, or escalate for additional support
  • Research and stay up-to-date on SEO and content strategy trends and tactics
  • Demonstrate thought leadership through blogging, internal training, public speaking, workshops, etc.
  • Nurture and develop strong relationships with clients
  • Communicate effectively across internal teams

While focusing on these strategic initiatives, you will also ensure the flawless execution of day-to-day activities, including:

  • Producing strategic deliverables for clients and overseeing tactical website initiatives
  • Ensuring tactics are executed correctly without errors
  • Delivering outstanding work that meets or exceeds client expectations and Wheelhouse's quality standards
  • Fostering a culture of continuous learning and knowledge sharing within the team
  • Supporting Wheelhouse’s service expansion in a changing digital environment, helping us stay ahead of the curve with digital trends, such as the adoption of AI tools like ChatGPT, Claude, and Google Gemini by consumers

Experience and Skills

  • 5-8 years of experience in SEO, content strategy, and UX, with a proven track record of developing and executing strategic initiatives
  • Exceptional strategic thinking and analytical skills, with the ability to translate complex business challenges into actionable digital strategies
  • Executive presence with the ability to speak clearly and convincingly to the business value of strategic initiatives
  • Deep expertise in search engine optimization, content strategy, and user experience
  • Proficiency with Google Analytics, Google Search Console, , keyword research tools, and user testing platforms
  • Experience using AI to optimize digital marketing workflows, uncover insights and ideally, to deliver tangible value to clients
  • Strong leadership abilities, including experience mentoring team members
  • Outstanding relationship-building skills, with a demonstrated ability to understand clients' business goals and cultivate strong personal connections
  • Ability to balance high-level strategic thinking with attention to detail in day-to-day execution
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to create compelling strategic narratives
  • Healthcare marketing experience is a plus
  • Agency experience is a plus

Full compensation packages are based on the skills and experience of the candidate. Candidates hired in this role should expect an offer in this range. The monetary value of additional benefits, such as insurance, time-off and fringe benefits are not included in this range. This only outlines the value of the salary portion of the offer. Compensation Range

$118,000 - $140,000 USD
