Marketing Manager

Remote

Wheelhouse DMG develops and executes digital strategies that deliver exceptional business performance. Our work and our clients are varied but everything we do and every client we work with is focused on the same thing – creating business value. We do this by working in close partnership with our clients to gain a deep understanding of their businesses and then use data science, our team’s deep expertise and our own technology to surface and deliver on the most valuable opportunities for our clients – whatever they may be.

We’re known for an unusual combination of marketing savvy and technical expertise that produces compelling ROI for our clients.  But we’re equally known for a few things we also consider sacrosanct – and perhaps even more foundational to our success:

  • The transparency and helpful spirit with which we do our work
  • The way in which we quickly become full partners in client marketing initiatives
  • The care and thoughtfulness that we show our clients

We are seeking a strategic and execution-focused Marketing Manager to join our growing marketing team at Wheelhouse DMG!

The Marketing team at Wheelhouse DMG drives brand awareness, audience growth, and demand generation for our agency. As we execute our growth strategy, we need someone who can create campaigns and build systems that move prospects from awareness through consideration to decision. You'll work as part of a small, high-performing marketing team to create an integrated marketing engine where compelling stories meet systematic execution.

In this role, you'll own critical areas of our marketing function, from content production to demand generation systems, while collaborating closely with Business Development to ensure marketing efforts convert to business outcomes. While you'll work as part of a tight-knit team, you'll operate with significant autonomy and ownership over your domain.

The right applicant will be a builder who thrives on creating order from ambiguity, has strong opinions about what makes marketing systems work (and doesn't work), and can balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution. This role demands someone who has done this before—built HubSpot infrastructures, launched multi-channel campaigns, optimized conversion funnels—and is excited to do it again in a fast-growing agency context where your work directly impacts how we are seen by our audience and our ability to grow.

Overall Goals

  • Build and maintain marketing systems that systematically move prospects through the funnel
  • Execute campaigns and produce thought leadership that grow our audience and establish Wheelhouse as a thought leader in our space
  • Own key content production or demand generation workflows with consistent delivery
  • Collaborate with Business Development to ensure marketing efforts convert to new business development
  • Track and optimize marketing performance across channels and stages
  • Demonstrate strategic judgment about priorities, optimization, and new initiatives

Responsibilities

As Marketing Manager at Wheelhouse DMG, you will own critical marketing functions that turn awareness into conversations and leads into clients.

Responsibilities include:

  • Build and manage marketing automation, nurture sequences, and lead management systems
  • Execute demand generation campaigns including email marketing, paid media, and list building
  • Manage content production workflows such as case studies, podcast, or thought leadership
  • Coordinate with vendors, freelancers, and internal teams to ensure consistent delivery
  • Monitor engagement signals and coordinate lead handoffs with Business Development
  • Track marketing metrics and optimize conversion rates across the funnel
  • Support conference marketing, event logistics, and integrated campaigns
  • Document processes and maintain organized marketing operations

Experience & Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or related field
  • 2-4 years of B2B marketing experience, ideally in professional services, agencies, or complex B2B sales environments
  • Marketing automation proficiency: Strong experience with HubSpot preferred
  • Content creation and storytelling: Can produce compelling case studies, write effective marketing copy, and shape narratives that resonate with B2B audiences
  • Track record of results: Can demonstrate measurable outcomes from marketing programs you've owned
  • Multi-channel execution: Experience across email marketing, paid media (especially LinkedIn), content marketing, or demand generation
  • Marketing operations mindset: Comfortable building processes, managing workflows, and maintaining systems
  • Analytical and metrics-driven: Uses data to make decisions about what's working and what to change
  • Project management skills: Manages multiple initiatives simultaneously without dropping balls or missing deadlines
  • Collaborative approach: Works effectively with sales teams and understands how marketing supports business development
  • Self-directed operator: Diagnoses problems, proposes solutions, and implements improvements independently
  • Strong judgment: Knows when to optimize vs. build new, when to handle independently vs. escalate
  • Bonus experience (preferred but not required):
  • Healthcare, medtech, or regulated industry marketing
  • Podcast or content production experience
  • Marketing automation and workflow tools (Zapier, etc.)
  • Google Analytics or web analytics platforms
  • Account-based marketing tactics
  • Conference and event marketing

If you believe you belong to any of the categories of protected veterans listed below, please indicate by making the appropriate selection. As a government contractor subject to the Vietnam Era Veterans Readjustment Assistance Act (VEVRAA), we request this information in order to measure the effectiveness of the outreach and positive recruitment efforts we undertake pursuant to VEVRAA. Classification of protected categories is as follows:

A "disabled veteran" is one of the following: a veteran of the U.S. military, ground, naval or air service who is entitled to compensation (or who but for the receipt of military retired pay would be entitled to compensation) under laws administered by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs; or a person who was discharged or released from active duty because of a service-connected disability.

OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
