Gas Scheduler
Position Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Natural Gas Scheduler to support the Gulf Coast and Southeast trading desk. This role is responsible for executing daily nominations, managing gas flows, and ensuring physical delivery of gas across multiple pipelines in coordination with trading and operations. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of pipeline systems, nomination cycles, and regional logistics, as well as the ability to work under pressure in a time-sensitive environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Submit timely and accurate nominations for physical gas deliveries across Gulf Coast and Southeast pipelines (e.g., Florida Gas, Transco, Gulf South, TETCO, Tennessee, NGPL, Sonat).
- Coordinate with traders to confirm daily trade execution and ensure alignment between commercial intent and physical flows.
- Monitor pipeline constraints, notices, and operational changes to adjust nominations and avoid penalties or imbalances.
- Communicate with pipeline representatives, shippers, and counterparties to resolve scheduling issues and confirm flows.
- Track and reconcile scheduled vs. actual volumes across receipts and deliveries, support imbalance management efforts.
- Maintain up-to-date records of transactions, pipeline activity, and confirmations in ETRM systems (e.g., Allegro) and internal scheduling logs.
- Collaborate with risk, operations, and accounting teams to support daily P&L accuracy, invoice validation, and audit processes.
- Stay informed on market fundamentals, weather, and pipeline maintenance events that impact flow reliability and scheduling requirements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Energy Management, Supply Chain, or a related field preferred.
- 2+ years of natural gas scheduling experience, preferably in the Gulf Coast and/or Southeast U.S. markets.
- Familiarity with NAESB nomination cycles, EBB platforms, and pipeline procedures.
- Working knowledge of key pipelines such as Florida Gas, Transco, Gulf South, TETCO, Sonat, Tennessee Gas, and NGPL.
- Strong organizational and communication skills with high attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines and respond quickly to operational changes.
- Experience with ETRM systems (e.g., Allegro) and scheduling tools (e.g., NatGasHub) preferred.
- Team-oriented mindset with a willingness to collaborate across departments.
Preferred Experience:
- Exposure to LNG feedgas flows, utility scheduling, or downstream industrial nominations.
- Familiarity with balancing agreements, pooling logistics, and regional storage assets.
